Great fit!

I’ve been considering a comet in either octagon or one of the brown leathers.

Did you have to add to the length?
@Mrfrown Thanks! I actually bought an off the rack jacket which fits me well IMO. I would definitely recommend the Octagon colour as it is really unique with different brown shades depending on light conditions. It's actually one of my favourite leather colours. I also like their Bainbridge Dark Maple a lot. Even if it's mid-weight leather it needs some break-in.

My first attempt at a "washroom selfie". Simmons Bilt Nebraska today in black goat. Spring may be here at last !

Don't know why the photo is "sideways" but I rarely post photos straight from the 'phone to the forum, usually I am a desktop jockey.

I have a Comet PLU-3 (the Thurston Brothers model with 3” added length) in comp. weight that I picked up here on the lounge. It is an exceptional jacket, truly a masterpiece of Vanson pattern-making and construction. It is such a simple design yet so easy to wear and very flattering as well.

My cotton cossack arrived, nice thick quite heavy, brushed twill with some soft nap feel, color is olive, on the inside of the cuff there is brown cord with big wales, pocket welt is something like velour / velvet chocolate brown same color with buttons, buttons is also necked stoutly hopefully will not dangling. Same button size everywhere, not backed with small button inside, 2 inside pockets also thick, what visible inside when the the jacket is open is quite neat facing is nice and flat top stitched , around the shoulder and side seam inside is single felled however still quite neat and not visible , slide buckle is a bit oversize for the jacket and simple looking, but quite heavy and seems solid and round so it wont eat away the cotton strap. Neck hole is sized perfectly on my thin neck i hate it when a collared jacket has huge gap to my neck. Patch pockets are too high for hand warmer purpose, but ideal enough to carry things like pocket tissue, ipod, smart phone better be inside mine sticking out there not deep enough unlined but since it is brushed cotton it feel soft probably safe to carry glasses inside. Collar is quite wide probably a bit too big to be worn with standing collar, the other side is also the same fabrics. Sleeve long enough and not too wide appear wider in photo because there is still folding line , i will wet it and warm iron it a bit to get rid of the line

Workmanship is neat no dangling thread, looks a lot nicer than the price and neater than some of my denim jacket.

despite the scare for the body length on the chart this one is paired with low rise pants and still works fine. Im happy with it.

It is beautiful to look at and it smells great. My wife said, “that’s what leather should smell like”. She then added I should get rid of everything I own and stock up on nice smelling jackets. Won’t happen sweetie, won’t happen.

This Shinki feels more substantial than its actual weight. It doesn’t look or feel anything like the Jelado I had, which was amazing, but it felt, and was, light. Both will break in beautifully.
Awsome, so I assume that when sb got shinki they ordered it not skived down? What do you think? Why else would sb have a heavy jacket made of shinki (built like a tank) and other makers have lite shinki

My guess would be that this particular SB model is more purpose driven than the Jelado.

The Jelado is close to two pounds lighter, and it is a cross zip with more accouterments.
