keep wearing them and hope things improve with the fit, i suspect things will get better. they sure look beautiful, little chance you'll ever run into someone wearing the same boots

They look amazing, congrats! Just curious, but where do you find them to feel loose?

I am about to purchase a pair from him myself, but we only did sizing via pictures I took of my measurements.

Thanks. I have very low volume feet and cannot wear any otr engineers. I was hoping these would be a little tight on the pass thru and instep so i could wear them with thin socks. They fit comfortably with Ih boot socks.
That said my Unsung house fit much better 1 year in than they did day 1. Some of the feeling may just be needing to break in the sole and wear the heel down a bit.

i had the same problem with one of my engineers. i went through half a dozen variety of insoles (superfeet, nicks leather etc etc) before finding the right insoles. i was able to walk, over 5 miles and stand on my feet most of the day comfortably.

I now use 2 pairs of northsole insoles.
thicker 6mm for summer (lightweight darntough OTC socks)
thinner 3mm for winter (midweight darntough OTC socks)

1. they can make the toe box tight
2. they raise you in the heel counter

I accidentally got a drop of leather dye on the toe of my left Corcoran tanker, so I decided to just go ahead and dye the toebox heel counter and edge of the outsoles.

They look better in person, but they'll really look great once they fully dry and the color evens out.
I got a little on some unintended edges here and there, but I never baby my boots so it won't be long before that's irrelevant and unnoticeable.

How did you find sizing on these tankers? Did you go with your Brannock or size down like most boots? Were they somewhat narrow at first? Im trying to decide if I should keep mine and size up. Thanks

I went a half size down...but only because I knew I could get away with it and that's what size the heavily discounted display pair I found were.
I had to take the removable insoles out and replace them with just some leather...but otherwise they fit me well.

If I could have I probably would have went with my normal brannock size and been slightly happier with more leeway with insole and or sock choice.
They fit fine but I don't have the extra toe room a Munson last typically affords.

I've worn them every day since I got them without issue...just the initial break in on day 1 & 2 then they were good to go..

Nothing special here so feel free to move along, but.

I've been looking for some cheapo boots to give me the comfort and grip of some trainers, but with additional robustness and support. Something I can wear without thinking about or worrying about* when I go out for a walk with Mrs Barnabus.

I prevaricated over options for cordura/suede tactical boots, but then spotted this pair of lightly used Timberlands on eBay. I realise Timberland is not highly thought of on here, but for £20 these fit my remit excellently, and waterproof to boot (ha!).

I'll put some nicer waxed laces in them, and maybe wax the boots themselves if I cba.

*because everything is for every day.

I don't want to spend big money on something super nice that I'm then afraid to actually use.

They are as comfortable as anything. I don't even notice them - which is the key signifier in my view that anything is truly comfy.

I wear them for walking, for work (when I don't need steels), and for just kicking about (ha!).

I'm sure they won't last my lifetime, but I don't need them to.

Wesco fit question for folks here.

I just got a pair of Wesco Morrison boots (purchased second hand) in size 10.5D, and they fit really well for foot length but feel slightly too large in the instep when using the stock insole. I was able to get them to feel like the "firm handshake" that is mentioned around the internet, using the Saddle Sole inserts (from Rose Anvil), but they feel slightly too tight in the toebox with these insoles, is that okay, as the leather will start to form to my foot, or should I be sticking to the stock insole and trying to "shrink" them with wear/sweat/or even getting them wet?

I've never worn a pair of boots without laces, so it's a whole new experience for me, and don't want to force them to work and never wear them or damage them, etc.

If they work for you and you have no one to impress, wear the heck out of them My most worn boots are some Bluntstones, as they're versatile, comfy, light, and the pair I have are lined, so also work in the cold. Will they win fashion awards, no, can they be resoled, no, but I enjoy them.

Renav Goods jodhpurs.

I have wanted to get some jodhpurs for years, but many designs were just too formal/fancy for what I wear now. Then back in January I saw a post from Renav on this model and knew these were finally the ones for me. They have the base formal details of jodhpurs, but the last shape has more of a western boot style and I think it’s a phenomenal combo. I went with an Indonesian cowhide and the grain is just fantastic and something different than my typical footwear. The fit is getting better by the day as they break in. At first I thought they might be too bigas they are a bit longer than some other footwear, however as they break in and the toe collapses it’s feeling more and more snug and comfortable and less and less like they are too big, so I suppose that’s by design of the last. I do appreciate the wide toebox though, they are very comfortable everywhere. Overall, I can’t recommend Renav Goods enough.
