Another day in the 3x OR, this time we went to the aquarium.

Later we stopped by the Eclipse Hat Shop by Pikes Market, it was a nice little shop with your standard Stetsons, Borsalinos, and I saw some Mayser straws too. The shop owner was very impressed by my OR and complimented the crease I put in it. She showed me the newest 6X 160th anniversary Stetsonian, which has an open crown. I'm kinda surprised it's not a Royal Deluxe but it seems to still be a decent if not slightly heavy hat.

I'm waiting for my local cowboy store to get one of those, and a BOP, in stock. I've handled both, but they were in "you're 7, and pretending to be Clark Kent, wearing your daddy's fedora" sizes.

I enjoyed a cold brew coffee treat wearing a Deluxe Stetson Flagship fedora.

I started some yard chores in a VS Wanderer (inspired by the Stetson of said name). Artlite Dove beaver felt has intriguing pearlescence hues in the overcast early morning light.

More stunners! That blue Flagship left me weak in the knees!

The Sunday hats got delayed to Monday. First Sunday of August is the day of the Deventer Bookmarket (biggest in Europe), so that kept me occupied yesterday. But here are the hats of last week.

Once again, a surfeit of riches, Stefan! For me, that beautiful blue Mossant is still #1. #2 is a tie between the Hückel Mercur and the Barbisio, and #3 is the English Hatter. Thanks for sharing!

Just finished this late 40s Adam DeLuxe last night. Used the original black ribbon as a contrast to this vintage ribbon I’ve been holding onto for such a fedora as this.
Built a dog eared pleated bow with cross hatch thread on the last pleat.
She’ll be hanging on my “favorite” nail!
One I’ve blocked up from 7 1/8 to 7 3/8 and it still retains its original proportions with its silver bound 2 7/8” brim. Up brim or down I love it! View attachment 721304 View attachment 721305 View attachment 721306 View attachment 721307
You've done some amazing work on a LOT of hats, but I think this one leads all the rest.

That is fantastic work.

outstanding!

Stellar work, Randall!

A day late but surely not a hat short. I’m going with ALL the homburgs this week!

Thanks fellas!
It’s a lotta work to do a pleated (shark gill) bow, but a whole lot more work to do a dog eared bow, so this one, with the black ribbon behind, took many hours to build and sew on.

Lost Dad six years ago... thought Id wear one of his hats today.
1000002739.jpg

nothing fancy... his Master Hatters of Texas Cavendars hat. It was crushed and filthy in the bottom of a box when I got it back from the in-laws... It was a bit bigger brim than I usually wear, so I did some stretching, trimming, and reblocking so I could actually wear it... Turned it from HIS hat into OUR hat

Yesterday evening's fedora choice was an Adam Pacesetter (Executive Quality) in Buckskin.

The head shot better captures the hues.

This morning I have stayed in a VS Stratoliner (inspired by the venerable Stetson Stratoliner). The sage green hat is a stunner in person.

What a fabulous hat that the Adam Pacesetter is Eric, the ribbon pattern is exquisite and I love the name buckskin for the colour.

mayday2024 015.JPG

Not quite the height of Eric's Adam Pacesetter but this bespoke Susquehana tops off the shirt and trousers that Tina made, perfectly. She actually took the hat with her to the fabric shop to get as close a match as possible. Am I spoiled.................or what?
