You're still better off with the mask than nothing. If you can buy a Korean sun visor (whole face) and use the cotton mask underneath it, you've got impromptu protection.
Yeah better than nothing, but really cotton mask from shirt or pillowcase material like the one i wear wont do much, if you have short stubbles you see even your stubbles go through it. And it is absorbing humidity from wet warm air we exhale and soon the whole mask feel damp, i imagine semi wet cloth mask would be very easy to catch any particle in the air to linger on it as we inhale through it, and wet fabric become more pliable so evertime we inhale the wet soiled fabrics would flap toward our nostrils and mouth. Probably if the cloth is more hydrophobic like cotton duck or goretex, it might function slightly better, i have suede protectant spray to make the fabrics more hydrophobic, but im not sure if its safe to breathe through it seems poisonous.

What you are trying to achieve is preventing droplets getting into the nose and throat and also the eyes. Layers here would be important- anything that shields the eyes will also help.

I wear minus lense glasses so i wear it all the time. Before i thought the virus particle is so heavy they would settle on surfaces rather than lingers in air, but since now they say the virus might be airborne for 3 hours so adequate respirator might be a necessity Outerwear:confused: i would layer cotton mask over it so i dont look like about to vandalize building with graffity.
