Well, apparently our good friend Bob is in the soup again, this time possibly permanently. For my money, while he deserved a time out the last time (though 30 days was draconian). This time is petty and unfair. Somebody has the long knives out for Bob, and I have no idea why.

I will be contacting the powers that be to register my dissatisfaction. This is ridiculous.

In protest of the unwarranted suspension of Bob

Someone is using a personal vendetta to police these forums and that affects all of our freedoms as posters unjustly ... if a rule was broken ... fine... no rule was broken and I see worse pictures and things said posted daily than a fully clothed picture of Tawny Kitaen

Bob posted nothing inflammatory, offensive, or outside of any rules of the forum as they are regularly enforced

So I will no longer be visiting this forum ... a forum that I believe I have been a quality contributor to and have defended the honor of many times because of my own beliefs and respect for the community within it.... until Bob is reinstated and I encourage you to do the same until this power trip is overridden

and honestly I’m not sure I’ll return even if Bob is reinstated

so to my brothers and sisters ... be well ... and don’t stand for this abuse of “power” when absolutely no wrong was done

There's a thread subject discussing the various "Fawn" colors Akubra offers. In humor, Bob posted a photo of Tawny Kitaen from a Whitesnake video (you know the one). It was deleted. Bob asked in the thread, "Why?" Crickets. So, Bob being Bob, he reposted it. Now he's gone.

Like Ant said, this reeks of vendetta and personal animosity, not enforcement of any rules. There are regularly photos of scantily clad women in many threads - some vintage, some modern. In addition, many members skate the language line pretty close and some have crossed it. These folks aren't banned.

Not to mention one member who, in a forum that supposedly eschews politics, regularly ****s up nearly every thread she's in with boorish political claptrap (and is worshipped around here).

I'm inclined to join Ant and Karl at the bar down the street. I've really loved this place since I joined and have had a great time. Made new and interesting friends. But this is a real turn-off.

Awww man... At first I thought I had accidentally skipped back a few months-worth of posts but I'm deeply saddened to hear that Bob was banned again... Even more saddened if Fruno's recollection is accurate. I'm a pretty square guy (as Matt would say) and yet the Tawny pics from the Whitesnake vid are, in my opinion, harmless. With this suspension arriving so soon after the first, absent some sort of response from the bartenders, it would be difficult to think this isn't symptomatic of a personal vendetta against Mr. Roberts...

Hoping that explanation arrives in a timely fashion.

Yeah... A lot like going to a pool party and finding what might (or might not be) a Baby Ruth bar floating in the deep end.

I'm incredibly grateful for the Lounge. And certainly, standards of etiquette must apply. But this feels like it might be an error on the part of the moderating community to fairly communicate and/or apply such standards. I mean... I think Tawny whateverhernameis is PG stuff and I'm pretty darned square.

This place is the only "virtual" community that I belong to. I hope that the folks in charge examine the situation closely and correct any mistake as soon as possible. The Lounge means a lot to me and a lot of other people. Hopefully, it can remain a place where principles continue to prevail over personalities.

+1 Yes, reading these posts from today makes my heart ache. I echo your comments Matt. Seems like a really big part of my life right now is collapsing. The thought of losing this community as it has existed is devastating to me.

I don't know if one or more of the bartenders has a grudge against Bob or it's just a case of serious lack of perspective, but I believe this suspension needs to be reconsidered. If the suspension was really because of the picture of Tawney Kitaen, then the punishment verges on ridiculous.

This is the only online forum I participate in and I have to say I am enjoying it much more than I expected but this makes me wonder if it is the place for me. Two of the things I value most are open and honest discussion and people with a sense of humor. Bob exemplified both and this just seems to say FL is not the place for those traits.

If FL looses Bob, Ant, Karl, Mike and others then it will be a much less entertaining and informative place.

Whoever the higher authority is, please reconsider this.

I personally agree. I've posted pictures of myself more "frisky" looking then the picture Bob posted. Let's all hope someone will have a change of heart on the entire issue. And SAY, it is almost Christmas, so being in a giving mood....Bob should be granted some "Christmas cheer" and be back...I hope!
