Your take on the Cossack jacket?

Do you have fit pics? I want to see how that waist band looks on you.

No, I don’t often take fit pics as I’ve used the same measurements (give or take a gut 1-1.5 inches) for 17 years. I’ve only had two mishaps, fixed by losing weight. I asked SB to make the v2 loose fitting to that I can wear a hoodie under it in Hokkaido winters.

Maybe not the "typical" Cossack jacket, but I did order a Thedi MTC-1279720(which is a half belt zipped jacket) with a cossack-style collar instead of the classic one.

I really love how the collar goes with shirts, and I do think the design is a bit more "fun" for loss of better word, compared to a classic half-belt collar for example

Anyway, I'm all for Cossack jackets and love seeing them here on TFL and in the wild!

Super soft leather and style

Being a style popular in the 20's-30's, I like it with buttons and boxy, on the "cropped" side, so to wear it well with high waist pants. I really dislike cossaks wit the 70s pattern (long) that unbalance the style (imho). I agree with the ones saying that buttons require soft leather. I have an Himel's and I think that David is a true master in this style

Another vote for the buttons and soft leather combo based on my very positive experience with my Aero Aeromarine in Pinnacle horse hide. I was a little concerned about the buttons, having read bloodcurdling accounts of Cossack owners who almost broke fingers trying to button them, or who were nearly permanently trapped inside their jackets because they couldn't be unbuttoned due to the stiff or heavy leather. Pinnacle poses no such dangers. It buttons almost as easily as a cloth shirt does. I've had the Aeromarine for a few months now and the leather is breaking in nicely, and was extraordinarily supple and comfortable the first time I put It on, just as advertised. Here's a picture showing progress so far.

I've been wanting a Cossack for a while. The collar has a great casual look to it. As others have said, it's a leather jacket that isn't trying too hard but it still has a unique style. My current leather jacket is a custom black biker from Field Leathers. I love it but it's definitely an aggressive look and not always what I want to put out there. I've long thought a light color Cossack would be almost a polar opposite option.

So I've eyed the Aero Aeromarine and the MF Campus and different options from Thedi. Excited to say that I went for one over the weekend but I think I'll make a new post about it.
