Just heard that my college- Texas A&M University has signed a marketing agreement with Stetson to sell officially licensed A&M marked hats. Hoping that means halfway decent 6x or Pure hats. Being a dyed in the wool Texas Aggie Id prob buy something that actually had an Texas A&M embossed sweatband
Looks like everything Ive seen so far is a westenstyle hat. Hopefully a 6x and not just a wool hat.. we shall see!

It may just be colors and pins.

Been a busy morning here my quiet little town.... First thing this morning someone stepped out of the bushes with a knife and tried to rob one of our downtown business owners. That ****s not supposed to happen here. Got home after coffee and distributed Mr Mooses remaining food, treats and rawhide to a couple of neighbors. Did one final **** scoop patriol out n the yard... no more foreign debris stuck in the lawnmower tires. Got Mr Mooses ashes container just about finished... just need another can of finish to get it nice. Guess I should go blow the sawdust off th patio before it rains later.

Getting ready to head out and buy some powerball tickets before I forget. Pulled the recently overhauled Adam hat off the wall for good luck

Some days you just live right! I ran by the antique shop where the owner had the knife pulled on then this morning to see how shes doing. ( Police found the shirt but not the guy yet)

I hadnt been in her shop for a while, and noticed a couple of hats on the wall. One was a nice silverbelly 10x Baily western but it was a size 6-7/8 so I passed. The other was a decent black 4x Resistol in an actual 7-1/4 LONG OVAL!!! Even had a nice actual real braided horsehair adjustable band....( I love the look of the double tassel bands) walked out the door with the hat and band for $21.50 including tax!!! No moth nibbles, funny bends or felt damage. 4" brim with a 5-1/2 tall crown. Liner is a bit crusty, ( soaking in Woolite right now) and the paper tags are dissolving into dust, but the sweatband looks to be all intact. This one should clean up nicely. Found just enough of the paper tag to determine its a Resistol Quicksilver... not a high end hat, but a known quality and well worth the price!! And its a local East Texas hat... Sweatband embossing shows it came from Cavendars Boot City in Palestine, Texas about 35 miles up the road

It will need a bit of steaming and reshaping, ( not really my style as it is so Ill prob start by flattening the brim and see where we go from there.. maybe a 1/2" or 3/4" brim curl? ) but so far all Ive done was brush off several ounces of dust. It pays to be neighborly and check in on folks!

Guess wearing the Adam WAS good luck... hoping it will help with the lotto tickets as well!

Since her surgery Tina needs to wear a back support, she has a fitting today so I am on chauffeur duties.
Following her appointment we are off to Hanson Fabrics, Tina's version of Narnia. The Susquehana bespoke hat I chose to compliment the trousers that my lady made for me.
Once again, Robert, you present a magnificent example of sartorial elegance.

Thought Id pick something lightweight this morning.. Had a little trouble picking a color.

Started out with a well worn grey Knox 15

Then a couple of Champ Featherweights

And finally a favorite old Royal Stetson. About as Whippett-like as you can get without actually being a Whippett LOL. Love the straight crown on this one..... It DID win the "pick me" competition for the morning

I don't believe you could have chosen poorly from that selection, Rick!

Sunday and the hats of the week.

Weather was cool enough in the morning to give the refurbished Hückel Durit a spin.

Wednesday was a bit special. Met up with Daniele @Daniele Tanto, his partner and daughter in Haarlem for lunch on this lovely spot here along the Spaarne river. We didn't talk about too much so as not to bore the ladies to death.
The English Hatter was the hat for the occasion.

Another great array of hats, Stefan, and a meet up with Daniele. What a week?

While it was a very close race this week, I will give the nod to the Hückel Homburg. Great hats, Stefan!
