I went to court today, and to Provincial Audience, it was, so I assembled a pretty formal outfit... Brown hues basically, hence a brown homburg made a good choice.

Winter seems to have finally stablished itself; it was chilly outside, so my overcoats are making their appearance!

I originally bought the Throughbred along with my Stetson thin ribbon Panama and a brown 'Super' Borsalino all from the same Montana seller. It was really the Borsa that I wanted. The Thoroughbred was virtually thrown in to sweeten the deal. It was in a very poor state, covered in stains, cracking sweatband. I thought that at best it may be used as a beater. A simple clean and block and the ugly duckling is now one of my favourite hats.

Just goes to show you can't judge a hat by what's covering it!
