gtd -- you're crackin' me up today. I agree with Carter, I think the hat looks great on you. If you are used to wearing a lid "brim down" in back, then having the brim up may feel/look odd at first. I'd give it a little time just to get used to it.

That being said, here's another trick to try out... Very often, particularly on my ORs, I will have the brim turned up in back (since the brim is already flanged that way) -- but I will steam the back of the brim, put the hat on my noggin', and then press down (using a sweeping motion) while checking out the look in the mirror. Using this process, you can position the back of the brim very close to where it would be if it were turned down. The result is that you get a kind of "turned down" feel to the back of the brim, but still have a turned up look going at the same time. This technique can help to give a nice overall curve to the brim as a whole. This may help to address that feeling you have about the hat looking too high on your head. Hope this all makes sense...

Great tip, Jimmy. I was looking at your avatar & wondering how you get the slight turn up at the back. The hat seems to fit tighter with the back snapped up, not bad today because of the cold wind. My 3" brim OR seems to have different "break over" point than the 2 5/8" one I'm wearing today = not like the whole back half is snapped up. Thanks again...

Yes. It was refurbished before I bought it. I probably would have gone with the original ribbon width, but I also like it as is. I think it was resized when it was refurbished, too. It does have the original Royal Stetson liner.

Thanks, rumblefish. It's always hard to tell for sure -- given variations in monitors, etc. -- but, I agree that the remaining johnnyphi Whippet appears to be virtually an exact match. Looks like Willow green to me...(perhaps johnnyphi can verify).
