Ordered it on Monday. Box on my front porch this morning. Woo hoo!

Ready to take it out for a spin.

Great looking hat on you Alphy27. The Squatter hasn't been an easy hat for me to sell. I think that it's because of the 3" brim and fairly high crown. But it's a great hat. That hat also beg's to be taken out into the elements.

Thanks for the compliments all. I do owe a debt of gratitude to Fatdutchman. It was his pictures that inspired me. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=20364
This is the second Akubra I own. The first is the cattleman which I did need to modify to get a more fedora look. As for this squatter I will be replacing the band. I'm fond of a more 30's look so it's going to be at least 2". Having a little trouble locating good grey ribbon.

This is a new Ebay purchase, a Champ black velour short-brim fedora with a very interesting patterned grey band and one outrageous feather. The overall effect is Tyrolean: Call me "Swiss Boy"! I removed the three pins visible in the Ebay photograph, as they were from organizations I do not belong to and made an already-busy hat a little too busy:

I've had a number of compliments on this hat already.
