Thank you, steur. Much appreciated. The radio, btw, used to belong to my Great Grandmother who bought it brand new from a furniture store called Nelson Furniture which has long since been out of business. I believe she bought it some time around 1940 or so.Great work, Terry! Love these pics with the hat on the old radio.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Thank you, scotty. The brim width on this one is 2 5/8. I've done a little tweaking to the pinch and reflanged the brim again since that post. I was trying to get closer to Alan Ladd's China hat which I'll be posting in a few. Additionally, it's a tall straight crown, 4 7/8 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 1/4 at the back, as creased.Dynamite proportions. What's the brim width?
Thank you buddy. I've done a little tweaking to the pinch and brim since, though. I'll be posting the results in a couple of minutes.Somebody finally got it right.
Thank you buddy. It was different time way back when. I miss the good ol' days. You do very nice work on those hats. I remember the Sha Na Na show also, was one of my favorite shows. I graduated from HS in 77.
It's not Tan Bark. This one is much darker. I used to know the color but I forgot what it was called. It's a very dark brown.Excellent conversion TJ, Those Stagecoaches had some great colors. Is that Tan Bark?
That's tough. In a similar incident I lost a good friend back in October in a drive by shooting. He was shot in front of his own home with his wife watching. They never found the killer as far as I know. He was gone before the paramedics got him to the hospital. He was a good guy who loved to laugh and talk sports. And absolutely frigid day, literally and figuratively. -5 outside. Went to a funeral today for one of my oldest and closest friends who was taken on Christmas in a senseless act of violence.
Some things I'll never understand. I wore a 60s Bee today.

Thank you scotty.Oh! I perceived the brim as being shorter, although it looked larger in the table shots. Must have been the angle of the shot of it on your head.
Either way, a great looking hat.
