Thanks Jimmy. It's a british weight Stephen L Stetson with 'Carter detachable leather'. The sweat is only attached with four metal buttons with the intention that the sweat band could be replaced with no stitching.

Yes and it is probably 1930s maybe older. I really couldn't get a good photo of it on my head. This is more representive of what it looks like.
