All part of the hunt.... and Ill be the first to say, that regardless how irritating it may be, it IS THEIR hat and thy have the right to do as they will.
Yeah. Old watches is another interest of mine, fix up old mechanicals - I should probably know better at this stageTo add to things... be careful messaging the seller with detailed questions beyond size or asking about out of focus pictures.... it may make them look deeper and figure out what a hat actually is. Over the years Ive seem more than one hat delisted after I sent a question only to see it relisted a couple days later for way more money. Id say 90% of them just flip cheap auction hats or sell garage sale items. All they know about the hats is whats on the tags or sweatband, or what someone tells them
Nice haul, Bob. The best kind of deals: a pack of lottery hats for a great price.Four hats for $13 each. Really curious to see the outside of that “Best Beaver Guaranteed “ hat that is stuffed into the mystery bowler. The only ads I can find for the Ferguson store are from 1924.

Pre-1936 with the mention of King George V? I can’t quite make out the date on the Prince of Wales reference. Or do these “By Appointment”s stick around after the noted Royal Highness’s death?

Very cool find, Jeff. I like the look of it from sellers' pics.I had to wait until this was shipped as well, but I think I found a rare one here. According to @steur it is a Borsalino style not yet seen here. Hopefully, it will be in my hands before the US holiday and I can post further in the Brotherhood thread.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I'd say that is a safe bet for a fiver, Bob.A roll-of-the-dice with a $5 winning bid. That felt hat looks very interesting and there are a couple Panamas. I asked, but received no further information on brand or size.

That looks like it could be a GREAT find. It's been 18 months since I bought my last hat (not counting a couple of beaters in SE Asia). I guess I'm pretty happy with my collection as is but every once in a while I still go on eBay and see what I can dig up.
I didn't have to dig long tonight before I ran into this Dobbs Fifteen for $49. Sold! I'm such a sucker for Fifteens!
The photos stink but boy this guy looks just about as clean as could be. Seller says it's a size 7 but provided no proof. I don't know what the brim size is, can't make out if it's a Guild Edge or a Dobbs Edge, and I am asking myself if that truly is a pink ribbon.
It will be an exciting unpack. Looks to be mid to late fifties, but I am not very knowledgeable in dating Dobbs.
