I get it. I enjoy posting here, amongst a community of fellow enthusiasts. But I would really cringe with embarrassment if my coworkers started going through all my old posts. And if I taught a bunch of teenagers? I can’t imagine how awkward they could make me feel!

It’s been many (many!) years since I was in high school but I don’t remember spending much time thinking about my teachers or their private lives whatsoever, they just didn’t seem that interesting to me.

We didn’t have the access to digital info that students have now - although there is no issue most of the time, a teacher in the UK was accused of serious misconduct by a student who gave credibility to the accusation by accurately describing the inside of his new house - including the rooms - to the authorities. The student had never been to his house and the accusations were malicious, but the poor guy had posted pictures of his newly-decorated rooms online on social media, allowing what seemed to be descriptions based on someone having been there.

Scary, eh? Teachers need to protect themselves online to a degree that’s insane.

Most kids are the same these days. But most are not all and there's always individuals who for one reason or another will actually dedicate time thinking about others. Nowadays, as zebedee pointed out, there's info within reach in the literal palm of your hand, so I'm actually surprised it took so many years for one of his students to find his channel, despite how niche it may be. And if one finds out, all the others will know as well.

This said, while I haven't really followed his digital footprint, I've come across more than a handful of his videos and there's no way you can find anything remotely inappropriate in them. I don't think he even swears at all in any! But then again, better safe than sorry I guess.
