Thoughts on Master Supply Co Jackets? Mid-range quality? Decent?

Hi. I posted some time ago asking about Aero/Simmons Bilt, since I am currently on a weight loss journey, and was looking for a quality jacket to reward myself with. I've finally started to pick up momentum in that area again, but looking at the prices of Aero/SB, I'm not sure I can afford to get a jacket that I'm not 100% certain will fit properly on my body. Plus at a single glance, not many people can tell the quality, so... I think I might end up going for something a little more "mid range."

After some research, so far it seems like Master Supply might be my best option. It's a Canadian company, though the jackets are assembled in Pakistan, and I think this might be the most attractive/cost-effective option for me. I like The "Bonneville" because it LEANS heavily towards the rock/biker aesthetic without fully committing to it and making me look silly without a motorcycle. Plus tea core leather supposedly patinas faster, so... yeah.

As far as mid-range jackets go, is Master Supply a decent quality brand? Can I expect this jacket to last for much of, if not all the rest of my life? Or is this a brand that is actually significantly less quality than the ads imply? Feel free to correct me if I've made any incorrect assumptions.

Anyway I still have 32 pounds to lose before I reach my 200 lbs milestone. (Currently 232, down from 285!) So this isn't something I need to decide on immediately.

They are remarkably good with their customer service, and the quality of their product is very good for the price range they operate in, if you happen to like the style they offer.

I recommend going with custom measurements rather than off the rack sizing, in order to get the best fit. They don't charge extra for it, which is part of why I say their customer service is amazing. The only downside is that the order will not be returnable. So know how to take your measurements and make sure they're good.

There has been a big thread a couple of years ago about them.
Their shills appeared on the thread as "members" praising their supposed jackets- when asked to post photos of them they just disappeared.

That is... a pretty un-civil thread there, for sure. At least at the start. But yeah, lot of good information here.

But yeah, people gushing about the jacket and then not even providing photos of themselves wearing this supposedly perfect find, that's a bit suspect. I've seen a couple of reviews on YouTube, but most of them are just showcases by Master Supply itself. I don't really trust a review made by the person trying to sell it.

Has anyone else had any experience with them? Preferably with photos?
And are there other mid-range company options?

Or is a "top shelf" brand truly the way to go?

In that MSC thread there's a couple honest reviews from members (this one or this one), so it is not only the drama over the alleged shill.

You mention wanting an Aero or SB but not being able to afford it while at the same time you want to lose weight... So why not save during the weight loss journey to see what you can afford afterwards? On top of this, buying new is not your only option, you can always buy used Aero. Or you can buy a new Vanson, should be more expensive than MSC but not as much as Aero. The Enfield or Oxford would be similar to what you've posted (No yoke though).

The other budget option similar to MSC prices would be Chinese jackets (Thread).

Can I expect this jacket to last for much of, if not all the rest of my life?

While nothing against them, I'm not particularly a fan of MSC... Yet I do think it will last for very long, if not a lifetime. I think this applies even to mall leather jackets, such as Zara or H&M, that are clearly far far lower quality than TFL's favorite brands.

I think the best way to start is always 2nd Hand, you’ll make mistakes but they won’t be as expensive. You may be even get a clearer idea of what you want once you reach your goal in your weight loss journey. All these jackets I’m sure they are nice but I have found Eastman, Addict Clothes, Bill Kelso for $400 - 500, for those prices for me at least the choice is clear. For some reason Aero is always listed for higher prices.

Personally I have a great distaste for the company and their stuff for various reasons that I have expressed in the past. So I would definitely not recommend them.
You're buying a 200-300eur jacket and paying the rest for heavy extra cringe marketing.
But since your in Canada.. That definitely makes it more attractive, especially if you go for an OTR and are able to easily return it. Even if you eventually end up ordering a custom one I'd still grab the OTR version first to check it out and return it before ordering a custom one.

Not sure who their comparables are. They make a jacket at a
particular price point. As long as you don’t expect upper tier quality at lower tier pricing you should be fine. Right now i can’t think of any makers punching above their weight class. May e vanson. If you can figure out your measurements used is always a good option. Many “lifetime“ jackets get flipped after a year.

If I were you and knew at the start of the journey what I know now, I would buy either a Vanson or a Schott depending on what style I were looking for. You can get barely worn Vansons for 300-400 USD and they will outlast you. For a casual style, look at the Enfield, Ike, Dakota or Model J.
