I think of my dad and all the men who have served our Country.

Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal, Feb. 23, 1945.
I liked it a little better before I found out it was staged, but I can't argue the reasons behind why the photo was taken and what it symbolizes.

Some local kids got into my UPS boxes on the porch before I could today...

In a sense, you could say it was staged. But there's more to this as
explained by Mr. Rosenthal.
For me, what matters is what it represented... and still does. :)

I think it's "Rainbow Tones," Bob...
Give 'dat man a seegar. A little online research, and probably the same website where Bob found that photo, confirms it is indeed "Rainbow Tones":

"There's something about the 'feel' of this soft hand-worked felt that says, 'Quality!' And there's something about the way Rainbow Tones snap up your whole appearance that says, 'Buy one...now!'"

If only they were still going for $8.50. :(

A silent western from 1915 with Harry Carey Sr.
I like the wide ribbon on the cameraman on the left and check out the crease on the cowboy on the far right !
