I am looking forward to it, would like to see how the parks came about and the history of those parks. Also, want to see what NPs are covered.
I've been to some big ones -- Grand Canyon, Zion, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Bryce, Yosemite, and such places as Joshua Tree, Saguaro, Organ Pipe, and Gateway outside NYC.
But there is so much I have missed. I want to observe and see what those parks are about, especially those in the East.
I love the Ken Burns series and hope this is as good as all the others.

PBS will broadcast Ken Burns’s new six-part series on the national parks, a chronicle of the rich 158-year history of what the series calls “America’s Best Idea” — setting aside remarkable places and landscapes for future generations to enjoy.
Mr. Burns’s documentary makes clear that no one should take that idea or the park system it created for granted. From the start, the project has been encumbered by political shortsightedness and inadequate financing, with the parks themselves constantly threatened by the encroachment of the world around them.

Am really looking forward to this series, especially with Burns' film style.
My two favorite National Parks are Arches NP and Mesa Verde (ok, it's a National Monument, but there's no difference in my mind).

Vintage photos, vintage hats
My family takes the summers to visit as many national parks as we can. I have greatly enjoyed the new Ken Burns series. I have also enjoyed seeing all the vintage photos of the vintage hats. The second episode features the creations of Yellowstone, Yosemite and features the likes of John Murr, Teddy Roosevelt and early park rangers. All wearing vintage felt and straw hats of course. It really puts me in a mood for a new fur felt. Living in Florida I don't have a huge need for a felt but there is always those long summer trips out west. Sounds like a good enough reason for me.
