Old license plates

We’ve alluded to old license plates but to date we have no thread devoted to the matter.
I don’t assume there would be a wide audience for this, but I trust I’m not alone in my interest in it.
The 6”x12” dimensions weren’t a nationwide standard prior the 1956. I’m not proposing we limit inclusion in this thread to plates older than that, but I’d prefer seeing those pre-’56 examples.

A ‘55 Wyoming truck plate in steel and a ‘47 New Mexico plate in aluminum. I’ve read that New Mexico began using aluminum from scrapped WWII aircraft starting in ‘47.
I’ve long been a fan of both designs — the Zia sun symbol on the NM plate and the cowboy on the bucking bronco on the Wyo plate.
