The leather is top notch. Solid, relatively heavy and structured with mixed "grainyness" out of the box. Soft enough to fold along the body first wear, but will soften up even more with wear obviously. All the horse hide jackets I own needed alot more work initially to gain the same type of smoothness (but I still love my horse hide). Leather comes highly recommend ed, now choose your style...
