Ween yourself off all those mixes & your blood sugar level will drop. There is no healthier alcohol to drink than good
tequila.
HI had an endocrinologist appointment this morning and we actually had a discussion about the evils of carbs. lol so switching over the straight tequila is Dr orders --right? After a nice glass I did a scientific test with some Lalo Blanco... it was decent but not a nice as the Ocho Reposado. Guess I definately lean more toward the gold side than the blanco side

I have been enjoying following you folks posts on this thread. The past couple of weeks I have been staying close to my fav Surley Supreme (English ale with a tarty grapefruit flavor). I have have a collage below. I did not wish to flood the thread with posts.

Last week I enjoyed a Sauna Water and a wee dram of Four Roses.

Last night I enjoyed some Kilchoman Sanig. The smoke, peaty, vanilla and honey tastes are well balanced. I do like this 46% abv. The fruit comes through the smoke and peatiness.

Picked up a curbside liquor order today, starting to build up back stock for the holidays & yr end while the weather is good. Everyone has been raving about a seasonal cocktail of Limited Edition Crown Royal Chocolate with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. I couldn’t wait to try it & experiment with how I might like it best. I had Skrewball a couple yrs ago when it first came out, both neat & OTR.

I like their slogan.

I started with pours of 1oz Crown Chocolate on the bottom of 2oz Skrewball as a shooter. The aftertaste I got from a shooter was that of a Werther’s Butterscotch candy.

My second pour was sipped, not stirred. The Skrewball was on top & upfront while the chocolate was on the bottom & more like an aftertaste. With my Stetson OR 7XCB.

My third pour was stirred resulting in more of a burned Reeces Peanut Butter Cup taste.

I think for me the pour ratio of 1oz/2oz is about right but you could try 1oz/1oz. And I’ll be trying OTR.

Believe I had the Screwball recently as part of Peanut butter and Jelly old fashioned. Your combo sounds very tasty.

I’m normally not big on artificial flavors or mixes. I’ve had doubles of Apple Jack before & a couple of shots of Jameson Orange when it came out. Just not my thing. And I certainly have no use for Crown Royal Blackberry, also popular now. Lots of people like to nibble on rich dark chocolate while drinking a good Single Malt Scotch. I like the burned peanut butter taste of a Reeces Peanut Butter Cup so I’ll experiment to replicate that.

There’s a barista here that basically takes a Long Black (large black coffee & 2 shots espresso) & adds a shot of peanut butter flavoring. It’s good, so I’ve been wondering about Skrewball in morning coffee.

Yesterday I experimented with a pour of Crown Royal Chocolate over ice chips.

And a pour of Skrewball Peanut Butter whiskey over ice chips. The ice dulled some of the burned peanut butter taste I’m after, but the aftertaste was like burned or scorched popcorn which I liked.

With temps in the 70’s I was able to enjoy some time on the veranda under my Akubra Territory.
