My supplies definitely come from a lower shelf than yours,
We’re living in an era of excellent small batch handcrafted blended malt, blended grain, single malt, single grain, cigar malt, cask strength, single estate whiskies & tequilas. Some of the best ever distilled. It’s like a hobby but so little time. Don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want to explore those. I’ve never been a fan of cheap whiskey buried in cola or juice to hide the taste. Even as a kid. YMMV.

Always been afraid of joining a buyers club like Barrel King for much the same reasons. You save money & it might be convenient, but you never know what you’re going to get.

The last many days I have been sipping the options in my beer cooler. A Founders All Day Grapefruit this past weekend was a treat.

A Surley Supreme IPA with a Saturday evening meal( spicy Tonkotsu ramen and Okonomiyaki) was tasty.

Sunday I enjoyed a Brewers Kitchen Supernaturalist brew. A double hopped IPA brewed in Illinois. I would purchase this again.

Having never tried decent straight tequilas, (Personally have always been a Sour Mash guy) what brands would you recommend to try first? I know Ive always favored Reposos a bit more than Blancos... and does the Rebel Yell shot glass improve the palate? lol

LOL…one of my kids lives around Louisville so I’ve been on a few KY Bourbon Tours. I’ve been to Lux Row Distillery & always kept some Rebel Yell on hand. On the trail tours you get some free swag like t-shirts & glassware.

If you like Repo try a bottle of Tequila Mi Campo. It’s great for a regular drink & it’s <$25, often on sale for $22.

Friday night steak, sausage and fresh green bean night! Pairs well with a big ol ****** Mary and a decent Open Road.

Mr Moose is done with his pain meds and antibiotics so Im hoping his tummy and innards can settle down a bit. Figured some good meat would help.... little greenery with fresh green beans would do him good too... really had his attention..... definately no loss of appetite. ( gotta watch the fingertips lol) Not sure if he liked the Ribeye steak or Kilbasa sausage better, but he really liked the buttered green beans as well. Been a good evning

In honor of the passing of Hulk Hogan.. the governor of our State of Florida has declared today August 1, 2025 to be Hulk Hogan Day. The flagship attraction of the old World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) paired with the Stetson Flagship.

This past weekend was enjoyed with beers from my beer refrigerator. Sunday I enjoyed a Lucette Brewing (Menomonie, WI) beer. It was terrific. The name had me purchasing it without my thought - I Think I'm Dumb. It is a Munich Dunkel. The chocolate and nut flavors with the semi-bitter hops is a winner.

Otherwise I have been enjoying familiar beers in order to clear space for Fall, Winter choices.
