Yeah agree. I know wesco on IG had a limited run of mr lous in natural cxl recently might be sold out. Or do you like the british tan more?

I think I just like the British Tan more.

These are more worn than I expect mine would ever be, but it’s a gooooood look. Incidentally they’re the pair owned by Mike at Ship John

I’m really looking at the Mr Lou’s (or possibly the Boss in Tan). Any pics on foot or thoughts you’d share? Searched the thread and didn’t see any other posts about them

Edit: whoops had a fragment of a username in the search bar messing up results. Still combing through all the results.
I own the Mr. Lou’s in black, the 7400’s in black domain and brown domain, and the 7500’s in British Tan. They are all wonderful boots, I find them all equally comfortable although I wish the shaft on the Mr. Lou’s wasn’t quite so narrow. I will get some photos up in a bit, as a matter of fact I am wearing the 7500s right now.

I can tell you that I wear a 10 1/2 E in all of the Wesco’s mentioned above. In boots with the classic “Boss” toe I am a 10 1/2 D and that is what I wear in most of my other shoes and boots as well.

Here you go @Mrfrown, a side by side photo of the boots:

On the left are the Mr. Lou’s, in the middle the brown domain 7400’s, and on the right the British Tan 7500’s.

Yowza

I can see why you didn’t stop at one pair. These are really beautiful.

Tan is kinda the “missing link” in my footwear options, so I’ll start there and see where things take me.

Thanks for sharing @El Marro

Cool Chippewas, what model is this? I doubt I could get them in Europe.
They call these their “engineer boots,” which they used to make and sell on their own but then for several years made them for LL Bean. I am pretty sure they are out of production now, but many close-to-new pairs show up on the ebay, for anywhere from about $60 to $120. What size are you in most boots?

IKR, in photos I always find these things amazing, in boots, in jacket, in jeans, etc. how much scuffs and stains it has, so much character
but personally I would never get there, the first few scratched on it would look like awful eyesore, it is impossible for me not to reach for shoe polish to try to mend it, so it will never have the chance to look that way.

I do get wear marks, especially on the heel and around the toe box. The pair I shared above is really too worn for my taste, but I enjoy my boots gaining character over time.

Polish is something I’ve stayed away from, but the very rare application saphir renovateur plus frequent brushing keeps them looking good to me.

I like the color changes, and scratches, or stain of fade that looks lighter or darker than the original color, but I just don't like the rawness of the surface when scratched, so I try to mend it someway with wax or a bit of shoepolish not to hide the scar but to smoothen the surface, while on photo I like this sueding and tattered edges of jeans pocket when already at that advanced stage, but I can't imagine going through few raw scratches, I remember how it goes with victorinox shells, how the first scratches felt, it would be fine after the whole thing dinged and scratched but the first few is always hard.

I'm a 12 in US size, a 11.5 in Redwing Iron Ranger. I'll take a look online although I don't need anymore boots (or jackets :()

Here’s a size 12 on the ebay now. Price is at the upper end but I bet they would take a lower offer. When new the leather seems very drab, but after a few months of wear (and no treatment!) it starts looking good. My last pair I wore several times a week for over ten years! They looked ideal at about the 6 year mark..
