[Because if you move it, then people will show up wearing boots, jackets and SHORTS!!!
We can’t have that now can we??

So why are we discussing mostly boots and shoes in the Outerwear section? I have watched this thread since its inception wondering if it would stick with jackets—it hasn't
There is a Forum where this is more appropriately discussed—As in General Attire.
Is there a reason why I shouldn't move this thread to the appropriate section?
If we need jackets in this thread to keep it in outerwear, here ya go.
Some pics of me trying to match my boots with my jackets as well as possible:

Because if you move it to the "appropriate section" this thread will die immediately, like my thread titled "Headwear to wear with our jacket". Right after I started it in the Outerwear section the thread got furious response, 5 or 6 replies in an hour. You moved it to Accoutrements or whatever the "appropriate section" is called, and the thread died immediately. I quite frankly do not understand the obsession of killing good threads by the mods, but whatever. So why are we discussing mostly boots and shoes in the Outerwear section? I think you make a good point here. I used to perfectly match my leathers. I wouldn't wear a pair of shoes or boots if I didn't have a perfectly matching belt. I even matched my duffle bags, watch strap, bill fold and what have you. A couple of years ago I realized my outfits were too much polished. Too much perfection. Everything so perfect it simply became boring. Some examplesVery cool!
Tho, what I'm beginning to notice about (perfect) matching is that it turns out so neat that the pieces kind of cancel each other. Everything sort of becomes one thing. or rather, a thing. Like, the fact that the color and material is so perfectly matched overrides the uniqueness of the two items so they don't really get the attention they deserve. Dunno, just how I see it.
I googled sprezzatura in Google images and I think a good one is not easy to pull off. But it can look fabulous. Interestingly, no leather jacket images on a first page or two of Google image search. We have to get out of the leather jackets and jeans trap and try more sprezzatura with our jackets!I think you make a good point here. I used to perfectly match my leathers. Now I like to mix and match a bit more. Of course I'd never wear black shoes with a brown jacket but seal brown boots with a russet brown jacket can make a great, playful outfit. I think the Italians actually have a word for it: 'sprezzatura'.

I had the same experience wearing my Good Wear Arcadia and a pair of brown Wesco Engineer boots. A friend at the coffee shop mentioned that they were a perfect match and the other guys all quickly agreed. Made me a bit self-conscious since it was not something I had noticed when I put the jacket on and I felt like I had to explain that I hadn’t done it on purpose or something...I was going out with a few friends the other day and I wore my cordo CXL CR and cordo CXL Vibergs and everyone commented how the leather color is perfectly matched. And it annoyed me to an extent, though I'm not sure why.
It will stay where it is. When I made that post, I didn't realize that it was an established thread. Should have known that, but just wasn't paying attention. That is what you guys are for—to keep me from making mistakes. This thread got 1337 replies and 99370 views in just under three years.
There are no thread in all of "General Attire" with that much traffic that are not at least 10 years old, most are much older.
If you move that thread it will die...
Most of the Outerwear crowd never goes to the other forums, i know i have never looked at "General Attire" in the 8 years i have been a member.
