Another Australian bootmaker. My wife's boot of choice over the years. 100% Australian made. Hers are the elastic sided slip on type.

I myself have their Desert boots , the 50's style "Ripple sole" and the "Sahara" crepe sole

I don't see Australian Blundstones discussed on the Lounge ( sorry if I have missed that !)

HUGE range of styles and materials. The second shot is my own boots , Australian made when I got them.

I used to wear Blundstone boots , "Blunnies" almost exclusively for nearly 20 years , even riding my Harley(s)

Yep - I've mentioned them. I'm not into footwear, but I do have 7 pairs of boots made up of of Blundstones and Rossi's. I don't own sneakers, shoes or flip flops or any other type of footwear. Been the case for decades. Problem with Blunnies are they are now made in Asia. Rossi's are still local. I would like to try another type of boot but I won't pay more than $100 Aus. I just don't care enough about boots. :p

I hear ya Seb. I wore Blundstone exclusively since 1994 until they moved production offshore. So I haunted eBay Australia and bought up a heap of NOS AUSTRALIAN TASMANIA made elastic sided pairs. Suede/oil kip leather/soft toe/steel cap.
That must have been around 2008 , and now most of those have worn out as they do. Many were as little as $30 AUD !
The square toed suede pair in my earlier post were $30 USD on clearance in Perth. I bought (only) 2 pairs and gave one new pair to a good mate for looking after our dog while we went to the theme parks of the Gold Coast. ( My daughter was 12 !).
The same pair has done a round trip to Europe twice , worn and taken as "good boots" haha...

In time each was relegated to dog walking duty and/or garden work before eventual "death by destruction".
The elastic sides would blow out making them a very uneconomic repair prospect.

I have no "sneakers" other than one pair of Converse Hi Top in red , and they will be over 10 years old bought on clearance at Jim Kidd sports as a Xmas pressie from my daughter to me.
I have worn them once in the last 5 years that I can remember.

When I rode Harleys to work every day , Blunnies were the first option , even tho' I also already had a diverse Lucchese boot collection accrued over 30+ years. Now the Lucchese are on Harley riding days , and Desert boots meet every other occasion, including days in shorts. Rossi , Loake , Ben Sherman amongst others. I don't wear the same pair 2 days in a row and keep cedar shoe trees in them.

Right now my "dog walking" go to pair are older brown Rossi Ripple sole , this Aussie winter will be the death of them !

I plan on getting a pair this fall for work. Many people use those and another AU brand Redbacks. I need something all black.

The black one is my favorite. It's a model 2746 and it's possibly the nicest Harness boot on the market. I'm sure Wesco makes a better quality boot but there's just something about how Sendra's 2746 is shaped. The details, too. It's perfect.

My Sendra "harness" boots, bought in 2012. They are made from a really soft and supple oily pull leather which has aged beautifully. The main attraction is that the harness can be removed. I usually wear them without it. 20200708_173034.jpg 20200708_173056.jpg 20200708_172743.jpg 20200708_172731.jpg

^^nice !! Too pricey for me. I have been looking at beck, olathe, honcho, hondo western style boots. More so ropers or classic plain looking western boots. Quality made all leather usa (except hondo) boots Only 200-300 bucks last ya a lifetime

@El Marro Many thanks for your advice. I just wanted to share this information. I'm considering "all black" Engineer boots or Service boots (not yet decided) like the ones from Attractions or the black handmade dressier service boots from Addict Clothes Japan which I also really like and which are both half the price of Clinch boots. The Addict Clothes boots are made in the same workshop as the John Lofgrens are made according to the shop.

Attractions are my first choice when it comes to engineers. For me they strike the perfect balance of quality (leather/construction) and aesthetics.

Clinch are of course very nice but that price imho is just over the top. Plus I just really prefer Attractions last which cost less than half Clinch.

There is also an Attractions stockist in Europe (east west apparel) since recently.

Do you guys have any opinion on ankle boots? Like ankle Harness boots?

Imma tryna kick out sneakers completely out of my wardrobe. Wanna wear what I truly want to wear, sick with compromising with something that I find least offensive just so I'd look "normal" and boots are as good of a start as any. But it gets truly too hot for full on Harness boots so was thinking about these...

Just wanna hear some opinions & experience, if you got any.

I like harness boots, but if the toes is a bit modified not as "chopped off" as original harness boots, not super pointy either. I have one with permanent and one with removable harness, I say the removable one is like having 2 shoes in one, can transform into a more dressy without harness if required. not sure if I like the elasticized shaft part, perhaps zipper is a better solution for slimmer shaft. I dislike the ribbons on the end of that chelseas, I cut off on 2 of mine, they always grab the back of the pants when I stand up from sitting or squatting. I also find chelsea boots to be too warm for me since the shaft is sealing off air circulation, and visually I like it more if the shaft is a bit sagging and resting over the harness overtime.

I also like the pinched "piping" detail on the harness, that's is as far as decoration I want on my shoes though it already have rings and rivets perhaps buckle if removable so it is enough eyecandies, no need for coins, no platings, no flames for me:)

@Mich486 Thanks. I've already talked to Jamie (East West Apparell) whom I've known for about six years as I bought White's boots through East West Apparell in the past. Good to know that the Engineers from Attractions are good in terms of quality. I also hope that they look dressier than standard Engineer boots - that's why I also consider the Addict Clothes black Service Boots which are slighthly modified to look dressier. Also @dudewuttheheck confirmed the high quality standard of Attractions even if there may be some differences such as hand-sewn vs goodyear welt construction. I guess and hope that the horsebutt leather quality is comparable. The leather of the Attractions Engineers is quite thick according to Jamie.
