This jacket was made by Roughwear Clothing, that is their Horsehide tag. It could have been sold with a Hercules or other catalog label. late 1940s.

I hate this trend of fast teacoring after only 85 years.
@jchance , the sleeve measures 22.25 inches when it’s straightened out. I’m much too tall (6’1.5”) for it.
@Retserrof, removing the belt loops cleanly would entail undoing a seam. Otherwise, you could cut it the top portion where the loop protrudes from the seam. The bottom part of the loop connects on the inside of the hem.

Another California Sportswear jacket sold, this one for BIN $1300? This is an interesting Aviator style with the zipped side adjustment. CSC collars were never the best.

Yeah, the thick shearling lining probably doesn’t help either… cool jacket though. I’ve got the same ballistic nylon on my J27

There was another CSC sold for $1500 after being listed as an auction, but got changed to BIN and sold?
I bid on this recent Cat's eye, it was a legit full run auction. Brought $1385 with a lot o bidders at the 1k mark. Nice gauge for the vintage market.
Not sure what to think about those other sales.
I'm all for vintage jackets bringing good money, just got to be legit sales.
