That is amazing! The seller did really well, going from no reserve auction to selling for $1500! This is a dream sale! Kinda hard to believe. At auction it would have never made that money. Why didn't the buyer just bid? Could have waited an got it for $500. Makes no sense.
The jacket is a 30s Californian. Not sure why it is worth that kind of money. It has the typical CSC back, the front has a different style collar. That is all I can see. I have the same jacket in Capeskin, with this collar.
It may show up again.

I would have offered $500 or so, and see if the seller would bite.
The jacket has acquired a nice patina, both in terms of fades and wrinkles. I would wear it, and I have high standards for a jacket that I would actually wear. It looks almost like Nik’s (@Rabbit) collection of 1930s leather jackets—museum-quality pieces of wearable art.

But what makes you think it's EWMI? The tag inscription looks like it says something else (can't make it out though).
No matter, it was interesting enough to gamble on for $100.

That tag says "Oshwahkon." They were the like the East Coast version based in NYC. I seem recall having read somewhere that they sold EWMI jackets, but they were a prolific maker in their own right. I wouldn't necessarily consider that specific jacket having been made by EWMI, but it is from the same era.

Thanks Jonathan. I figured it was something along those lines. I am familiar with EWMI and Gandalf but still getting familiar with some of the other makers from that era. I'll do some digging into Oshwahkon, thanks again.
