I don't really have any more space for hat hooks. I have 3 hooks up on a meter wide section of wall. I was thinking of putting a bunch over this wall, but the heater is right there. There are not really other spaces I could use.
I think it would, but I thought I would get other opinions, I'm sure putting the hats so close to the heater would shrink my hats. What do you think?
As the hats are starting to accumulate, I'm now faced with the dilemma of storing them all in good condition. As a stop gap, I've been using pedal bin liners, but these won't let the hats breathe, and may potentially lead to mould issues long term. I'm not overly concerned about caps, as they can all live in a drawer. As to the brimmed hats, would cotton pillowcases make for good enough dust bags? (I'll not be going the box route, as they'd probably cost more than the contents) Are there other breathable bag options that I'm unaware of, or reasons to not use any cotton bag?
For reference, I have two leather hats, two wool felt, and four cotton, that I'm looking for simple storage issues for.

Many of us store hats in plastic of some sort. Moths are much more of a threat than mold, particularly if you let the hat dry naturally before you put it in a bag.
It’s not a big deal, but on this forum we try to attach new posts to old threads of a related or similar topic. I know some other forums don’t like old threads to be resurrected, but here it’s the preferred way. We also have an Ask a Question, Get and Answer thread for questions that don’t fit neatly into another existing thread. Like I said, it’s not a big deal, it’s just the way this forum works. Keep your hat collection growing and feel free to ask questions and contribute to the forum!
