As promised, some COR pics. This is the 2mm cowhide rider jacket (pls forgive the multiple lightings..)
Again, maybe I got lucky but this not too shabby for 330 USD IMHO, delivered to Canada in 10 days or so.

Thanks for the pictures!
Looks pretty damn solid for those that like 'em extra thick. You can definitely see the 2mm there.
Overall the finish of the leather looks nice, plenty of grain also.
I'd be very pleased.
How does it feel? How's the mobility without shoulder gussets or action back with leather this thick?
Seems like you'd need a very well though out pattern to make this work practically.

Hi, as I have "customized" my COR horsehide sportsjacket, what I really like to do with my leathergoods, I thougt perhaps it was interesting beside the reports about our experiences with cheap jackets of not known companies to show what is possible if you invest time/work/materials in the sense of "Pimp your cheapo". In my case my efforts were really worth it as the leather according smell/look/flexibility really gained. If there is interest I can put in pictures after I will have changed also the knobs...

I'd be interested to see what you did with it

Pimp your cheapo - CoR horsehide sportsjacket. Treated the leather with oils (mustang paste water mixed with Zirben-oil against chemical smell and mustang paste after taking off the originally used finish with ethylacetate, waxed with redwing bootcream brushed after every application with horsehidebrush and finished with Profide of Brooks company). Changed original plasticknobs against vintage leatherknobs. The leather now is smooth (see the 1st foto of "crumpled" jacket), the grain is nice and shiny with more depth. The oils and waxes I all had already and put them on generously with several times of intense brushing after every application. The zipper runs better after putting on some crease for leathercombi-zippers. The costs of the jacket with the oils, wax, knobs etc were estimated about 300,-€ as I had all leathercareproducts and I did not have to pay any custom duties. The size XL of the jacket is generous for me (180cm tall with 73 kilos) as I wanted it to put some layer under in the colder seasons.

My pleasure!
Thanks! It does feels quite sturdy and substantial as you've correctly noted, but also very supple. It draps well from the getgo. Chat GPT estimates it's a type of veg tanned tumbled cowhide (the tumbling supposedly gives it its pebbly grain and suppleness).

Mobility is OK/average, I would say. Not great, but not much worse than my other jackets (also lacking shoulder gussets/action). It's challenging to raise both elbows above my shoulders with the jacket zipped. Other than that it is generally OK and is improving noticeably as it the leather is breaking in.

I'll post some more pics a couple of months down the line to share how it evolves with some wear.

What mm thickness is this jacket? I think I'm gonna be ordering a custom fit from berg river soon but I'll also probably get one from this brand also.

It's a 2mm veg tanned cowhide. Here's the website product page of my jacket:

Chose the 'purple' variant (note: my jacket is NOT purple but deep brown / coffee in color).
I have no relation to the seller.

Be aware it is very thick and you'd need to put up with a longer break in period as a result.
Still a great jacket and a keeper for me.

I made a repeat purchase from COR and was satisfied with both jackets to date:

1- a 1.5mm horsehide Hercules copy that I found pretty close to the the RC version it was probably copied from.
2-a 2mm cowhide straight zipper trucker/biker jacket that looks like a slimmer Highwayman with a slightly different design.

In both cases, the leather was very decent: it smelled pleasant, looked consitent across panels and had a nice hand with lots of interesting grain. Thickness as advertized. It's not Shinki level obviously but didn't feel like a cheaper/value leather at all to me. Impressive actually.
The stitching and construction are hard to fault and the hardwear is on the lighter side compared to the japanese makers, but still seemingly solid enough to function reliably - time will tell.
I like the body lining, feels substantial and durable (wool blend?) and is tastefully paired with the leather. Similar feel of durability to the pocket linings.

For reference, besides these COR jackets, I own a Flat Head cafe racer / half belt hybrid, an RMC steinbeck, an Iron Heart rider jacket and a Simmons-Bilt roadster (all horsehide).

I may have gotten lucky both times but each of the COR jackets exceeded my expectations for the price I payed. I may get a 3rd one in the future. Definitely great value.

Downside / risk: returns are very expensive so you need to make sure you get the fit right from the first time. Luckily the patterns are friendly to non-asian types and, in my case at least, I easily found my correct size by comparing the size chart with the jackets I own.

I say keep your expectations realistic and with some luck you may be impressed with your COR jacket if you ever chose to pull the trigger. I'll may post some pics when I get the time.
Do you have a link of the model you picked for the rainbow country? I see a few options in their website ranges

Hi, I ordered the Men's sports leatherjacket which is on the screenshot the one on the right but l chose it like on the 1st foto in brown horsehide...

I will also order a horsehidejacket of Fivestar leather with my specifications. I am excited about the comparison with regard on the quality of these two brands...

I do happily own the black equivalent to Fiedi’s in teacore horsehide for several month now and I‘m very pleased with quality, style and sizing (XL , 178cm76kg) Yes, falls short in comparison to my Y‘2, nevertheless you wouldn‘t think the jacket just being a fifth of the Y’2s price.
Also do wear their ironclad boots in hh, a knock off from the Toys McCoy Surveyor boot. Look, sizing, stitching really nice.A heavy boots that requires some time to break in, but also highly recommended.
Currently awaiting delivery of their hh A2, which should be in next week. I strongly recommend to check for correct sizing with their customer care Jimmy, which was spot on both counts.
Will report further once the A2 is in my hands.
