Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I don’t know who the actual seller is, my question was primarily aimed at the general activity that people are sharing items actively for sale, with pricing, and it being the same shop being linked to.

Evidently this question has upset at least one member, and any rule seems easy enough to circumvent by having a friend or separate profile do the posting.

I’m not tying to cause trouble with what was an innocent question. It’s just not the activity I expected to see in a thread about finding finds and deals, when the forum already has a classifieds section.

What are you talking about specifically? You are not asking an "innocent" question - you are making accusations that don't have any substance behind them. Please substantiate what you are claiming to a moderator or sit back and watch the thread a little bit longer because none of these accusations bear out from my viewpoint.

I see three links to TFL member items for sale on eBay. That happens frequently enough on this thread to not cause the kind of alarms you are raising. None of the links where made by the sellers themselves and those who did post the links are absolutely justified to post them - the items are unique and offered at decent prices.

Ok in case my question and subsequent reply were unclear, I thought from the title of this thread that it’s about people sharing the deals they’ve scored.

If I was wrong in assuming some of the links are people’s own listings then I apologise, although I’m somewhat taken aback at the replies instead of a simple and polite correction. But regardless, the thrust of my question is to ask whether this thread is about “look what I scored in a vintage shop today” or “look at what’s for sale right now.”

This thread is NOT about deals you've scored. That's where you're mistaken. It's about deals you have found FOR SALE that others might be interested in. That's why there are all these links to eBay.

I hope that helps clarify this issue for you.

Perfectly, thank you!

As a follow up question can you tell me what “pardon our interruption” means here? I keep seeing it as the link text to a listing.

It was a question, not an accusation, and that seems to be a surprisingly strong reaction. i haven’t seen the logs of who is friends with who, I was asking a question because - as the new guy - opening this thread looks more like a marketplace than people sharing what they’ve found.
I'm a regular on this thread, and I almost exclusively see people posting finds and deals in good faith. I'm thankful they do post them, because I see items that I wouldn't necessarily buy, but I get to learn about. Sometimes a username on eBay differs from the one used here.

As mentioned, If you're concerned, just report it to the admins and enjoy the site.

Branded Garments size 42. A little pricey at $279 OBO, but that grain is pretty cool IMO.

wonder how it ended up in ukraine of all places... there's a story there!

Prob via humanitarian aid of second-handed clothes, due to the current war going on there.

Relatedly, I started seeing some high quality vintage leather jackets (Al’s, Sears Oakbrook, etc.) flowing to Vietnam, too. Not sure why or how. There are two thrift shops there I’m keeping an eye on.

Those two places have had small niche American vintage markets for a while.
