Do you know what became of it? I sure hope it got saved somehow, and not scrapped.

Wish I knew. I drove by and noticed that the business had changed. Hopefully the sign is in an antique shop or someone’s garage at least.

I can envision a scene with that sign figuring prominently. Several scenes, really — a casual tavern, a boho coffeehouse, a spacious loft, etc.

I've shared this one before, I'm sure, but I ate supper here tonight (it says steak house but the fried catfish is the mvp) and had to snap a photo. It looks like some of the lights around the letters have given it up. At least the business seems to be doing ok.

This one's just across the hi-way from the steakhouse. These plastic ones with the internal flourescent bulbs aren't near as cool as the old neon, but it's still a relic from a bygone era (as are those of us who recognize that guy) AND it's all that's left of the place. I guess the notion of hauling a busted appliance to the repair shop is also from a bygone era.

Was near there the other night. We spent part of Friday in Traverse City then drove down 31 along the shore into Indiana Friday night. I'll give a shout next time we're up that direction. So much to see around there.
