I think their abysmal stock pics might have something to do with it.

But tbh, I also think they’re one of those few brands that dgaf about mass market appeal, they just wanna cater to the bike riding market.

And that’s likely why they don’t bother with diffusion lines like schott, or sell them at mainstream clothing stores like norstrom.
But their collabs are... many times... superb.

Whenever I wonder why Vanson hasn’t achieved the popularity of Schott despite comparable or better quality and patterning I remember this naming convention….

(I think it’s actually probably the history/heritage thing)

Poor marketing and advertising, including poor photos.

Absolutely!

I have one, which happens to be my best fitting cr and my main go-to for riding as well.

And I’m willing to bet those collabs were mostly initiated by the other brand, which says a lot by itself, I’ve seen collabs from niche high end designers to small boutique brands, even barneys new york had at least one collab I’m aware of.
So far, in my collection, the results are definitely driven by the other brand (and in limited runs like dudsbydel) but prove the excellent capabilities of the Vanson crew. Marketing is an art, and Vanson caters to their crowd. What's great is that they welcome the collabs...and execute well!

I;m a little confused - is that 48 in EU sizes or in USA sizes? The measurements make it look like EU sizes, but I checked the Double Helix website and they seem to measure in USA sizes. Can anyone confirm?
JP sizing. Like 48 JP is 46 US / 56 EU, roughly speaking. Of course, go by measurements because different brands do sizing differently.

Ah that explains my confusion - I didn't even realize that Japan had its own separate sizing system!

I don’t think it does per se, it’s just that sizing hasn’t crept bigger as it has in the West. Pretty sure jp jacket sizing more consistent with the vintage jackets they are based on.

But it should be within a margin of 1-2 sizes from UK/US, unlike EU which consistently flummoxes me!
