Glad you liked it. I'll have to watch the episode on it later.
Sounds good, Jeff ... please do not forget that you are always welcome on the channel as a guest or chat participant. Absolutely no strings attached. In the meantime, thanks again for being so easy to work with!

R. & M. Wegener "Em / 7", possibly mid to late 1930s. Very light weight + pliable green Smooth Finished Felt. This Soft Felt was a NOS find from 2020.

There's still enough sunshine to wear one of my Aloha shirts, hopefully the rain will hold off. A bespoke Gamble & ***n compliments the shirt & trousers. I'm off to the barbers later, perhaps I should have posted this in the: You Know That You Are Getting Old thread, but as I still have to take my hat off to have a haircut, I will kid myself I'm not old enough.........Yeah right!

Robert, one of the things I envy the most about you is your ability to wear your Aloha shirts with as much style as your suits. Kudos!

What a great compliment, grateful thanks. I shared it with my other half, she liked your compliment and remarked: "I told you that the black hat was better than the bottle green." My reply was that of every married man who knows his place.........................."Yes dear!"

That made me smile, Robert ... indeed, it seems you have managed to master an art so few of us can manage ... having the luck to have found such a wife ... and the wisdom to know how to keep her.

This John David Fifteen fedora is a wearable time capsule. The John David label began as a men’s clothing chain in 1904 and dressed New Yorkers in sharp threads for six decades before closing its doors in 1964. Their hats, often crafted in partnership with top makers like Mallory Hat Company, carried that extra touch of “house label” exclusivity. The Fifteen grade meant quality felt, fine finishing, and the kind of mid-century polish that defined downtown sidewalks and uptown nightclubs alike. I am wearing a piece of a bygone retail empire—an echo of Broadway marquees, post-war style, and Madison Avenue window displays.

My absence began with an embarrassing tumble onto the deck as I was about finished loading my vehicle for the 3-1/2 hour ride home. Fortunately, all The boxes and especially the Cavanagh Milan (rear, center of photo) served to break my fall. The subtle dents left on that hat are now badges of honor, adding to its provenance.

Following a week of hospital "incarceration," (a decision made to keep me close to the surgeons in the event of sudden loss of all sensation below the neck) I enjoyed spinal surgery in the form of a “cervical laminectomy." Glad I could wait, as I got the "A" team from neurosurgery.
Imagine leaving home, thinking you'll be back in a few hours, and ending up being away for 2 weeks!!
ALWAYS wear clean underwear!!!

In recovery I also donned the Borsa thin ribbon.

Then one of my Black Sheep Hat Works favs, in granite felt. IMG_1637.jpeg IMG_1638.jpeg IMG_0212.jpeg
Every day’s a plus, folks!! In another 8 weeks I should be cleared to drive. WooHA!!!

Like the song says, Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think!!
