I ended up getting this jacket. It’s slightly more broken in than I expected but in good shape. However, it’s got some kind of sickly sweet scent coming off the lining and the leather. I’ve tried leaving outside for a day and even a short de-ionizing treatment without a lot of luck so far. Any advice?
I've no advice, but I wouldn't mind seeing pictures :D

I'd consider returning it if you paid anywhere near that kind of price. Since I've never bought anything that way, I'm not sure how it would work.

You may need multiple treatments and multiple days outside. You can try putting it inside a sealed plastic bag with baking soda/ground coffee/activated charcoal for a week, ensure that the stuff doesn’t touch the leather. Repeat if necessary. It can be done.

It’s likely impossible. It’s a nice jacket but needs an airing out. Plus with discounts, it was a pretty attractive buy. And came with a free scent! :p

Cool. Hey it sure looks nice!

There's a lot of threads on here about trying to get rid of odors. The sun, a fan and being outdoors as much as possible for a week or two may be the best thing you could do.

Pretty sure this exact same listing and Star Glove was up several months ago and ended with a sale. I'm curious as to if it didn't sell, buyers remorse, or something else happened. Still a beautiful jacket.
It was listed and sold for about $700-750 BIN. New owner prob changed his mind about keeping it and is reselling for $300 more with bidding.

A white Vintage Harley-Davidson jacket "44" - nice vintage piece for $220 BIN
In Chicago. - I almost wonder if the "66" in the tag shown below may be the production year? I think this would be the correct HD logo for those years?

Those are call the Cyclist vinyl Jacket for both ladies and gents. They were introduced in 1966 and sold for several years.

More like a 34-36 with the 16" shoulders and 20" pits.
Beautiful specimen! Would be a great first vintage piece for me.
