A white Vintage Harley-Davidson jacket "44" - nice vintage piece for $220 BIN
In Chicago. - I almost wonder if the "66" in the tag shown below may be the production year? I think this would be the correct HD logo for those years?

I’ve not seen this design before. Kinda interesting with the lapels and the snaps. I couldn’t wear the all white, but black could be cool.

branded was a small independent maker based in LI city in NYC. I would say good jackets are on a par with Natal or Walter Dyer. If you see tags with "orchard M/C" on them (except for A-2's) GRAB THEM because those hides tend to be REALLY heavy. I've only seen cowhide, but I know that on request they did do horsehide and odd colors etc. Store went out of business in 2011 or so.

I think the original owner still has an etsy store.

Good summary here. I presently have 3 Branded, two of which are identical other than the "Orchard M/C" leather. All 3 have brass hardware and zip out liners (long gone) that seem to set them a notch above the chrome hardware, fixed quilted lining model I posted above yesterday. Still a worthwhile cross-zip.

Since they apparently left the market around 2011, this was before the Internet revolution of "Have to have horsehide" trend really took shape in the US-market. And like BLM stated, these jackets were aimed at the entry to mid-range motorcycling audience, those who looked at the skulls and insignia-festooned products in a Harley showroom and walked out seeking a US-made, simple, cowhide motorcycle jacket that would last 10-30 years.

Branded pricing has now fallen to the point where they may be the undisputed best deal for the money out there for a great leather jacket.

totally agree with this. If you get a good branded they are VERY nice and you can find them on ebay for cheap with some regularity

Branded is a great company. i have purchased from them many items for more than a decade. I believe they use the same hardware as Schott. Their buckles and L24 snaps are identical to Schott but with the BG label. Their knits are also the same as Schott. I have purchased their wool type and repaired many jackets for close friends and I. In the past, they crafted a nice vest which as a military copy reproduced by the RMCJ. As you probably already know, but it is worth mentioning, they were an official military supplier under the Orchard label. Their production ran from the 80's to 90's. Orchard M/C Dist., Inc. DLA 100-86-C-0481.

I think it's safe to say we are in agreement. I own a number of them including their A-2 model with removable fur collar. I especially love some of the early ones and also the Orchard M/C versions. Very nice, but some are outstanding. There are cross-zip examples sold recently as low as $50 dollars and that's absurd for the craftmanship.

yeah that's why I mentioned that the orchard label is less useful with their A-2's, because ALL of their A-2's say orchard. It is the non-military ones that say orchard M/C on the tag that tend to be the really badass ones. I have several and they are BEASTS

You also brought up another of my super sleeper favorites...Natel/Natal...and I have noticed that their cross-zips have become harder and harder to find (specifically with belt and loops) and THOSE are beasts too. Crazy leather on some.
