Right now i’m seeing:
LW 24 at $2650 mto
Rmc $3400 otr
Had 2 rmc. Between them I had 3 zipper failures in 3 months of wearing. Fought a grizzly bear in my Lw. It’s fine. The jacket not the bear.

That’s what I love about TFL, we can keep things light, folks don’t take everything seriously and we can have some fun!

Imagine being so emotionally invested in a jacket that you read a critique and have to lie down in a dark room. I never expect my comments to trigger a loyalty oath.
All I said was if someone looking to spend that much on a jacket, it would be worth it compared to what else is out there in that price range. It's definitely not a price that most people can afford. Where did I say that this jacket is a "must-buy" for anybody and they would be stupid not to?

Somehow, you took it as me calling you a "cloth-clad peasant" and went through the trouble of making a comic panel about me and Stuart. Do you know what emotional investment means?

TBH this guy is like a professional level troll and gas lighter from what I've seen, no offense Dr. Barry. Would just ignore this guy and enjoy the rest of the site

Stu is crazy to think he could compete with RMC in terms of pricing. RMC is a heritage brand that makes a lot of high-quality non-leather clothing items as well, with a stronger brand recognition.

Stu is equally insane to price a non-custom jacket at $3875 when a custom one goes for $4215. Maybe at half like $2100 makes more sense, like how GW does it and actually sells quickly. But even at $2100 for a new non-custom leather jacket is still crazy, that’s a new custom Thedi or GW jacket. There’s a reason why LW used jackets’ pricing is in the low-mid hundreds.

He’s definitely “lost” in his own “world.”
But remember, you can always "discount" a big price however deeply, but you can't try and add a premium...

That’s not very nice. We’re all hear to have a good time and learn. I was just taking the **** (as my British colleague likes to say) from BMBT since he’s a big fan of Stu and seems to appear when his wonderful jackets are under discussion. I actually like this stuff and simply posted the eBay listing to bring awareness if anyone here is looking to make a purchase. Personally I’d love to find a second hand buco or Trojan jacket at some point.

I thought he was trying to quote Stu, who, as you know, would definitely use the term...(it's just his famous style)...which I find very entertaining here in our fanatical world of leather. BMBT made a completely legitimate point, which, any fandom aside, should certainly be allowed and celebrated here. Opinions folks, followed by fun and usually quite educated debates, right?

Maybe not a deal or a find? I love the design but still don't understand what makes these items so pricey or desirable. Happy to learn. https://rb.gy/7o68oa View attachment 723269

Ralph Lauren’s brand, marketing and design. Most of your money would not be paying for the hide, hardware or construction cost. The same reasons as to why LV or Hermes is pricey or desirable.

“Desirable” is subjective. Maybe to the general public who aren’t leather jacket enthusiasts, but RRL leather jackets aren’t desirable around here, where better alternatives exist.

honestly i have been attracted to a number of RL leather jackets that I've seen on ebay and would pay 200 to check one out but no more. But some of them have cool patterns that i don't see from other makers - the one you posted looks like a good example.
