What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

The hat is exquisite, the colour, divine. I would love a three piece suit in that colour.

My straw hats are looking rather jaded, but this Susquehana compliments the shirt Tina made, perfectly.

There's something else that Tina made to my request, baggy trousers.
twenty-two inch circumference around the hem, no less.

Back in the day they were dubbed: "Oxford Bags."
I have a long way to go to imitate the originals.

Robert, Thank you! Your "Susquehana" looks great with Tina's custom shirt!

TONAK "Lestand" probably later 1950s. Really like the Felt & Band color combo and the Form. This Soft Felt is from my May 2016 NOS Czech Find.

Tonak 1799 Bag with photo of J. Hückel ´s Söhne Employees from early 1900s. This was a gift from Tonak when I visited the factory for the Tonak / JHS 220 Years celebration (September 6, 2019).

they certainly do seem to pop up a lot. Very common with. Whippet-y hats and OR/Strat-o-likes…. . This one certainly checks most of the ******* boxes.

light weight felt = check
big full crown = check
mid ribbon = check
2 1/2ish brim = check
single row of brim edge stitching = check

******* on the sweatband = BUZZZZZZ.

I wonder if the non model name hats were sold at a discount to the advertised models…. Or if maybe they were sold into certain establishments where they did not want to have a model name…. Either it be small stores…. Or bigger dept stores.
I know larger stores Miller hats in Houston used to have "Store exclusive" Stetsons. ( same for Way Out West ans Sheplers western wear) Always figured that big shops like that probably got good deals from the factories on overstocks or maybe the ability to order hats with a non standard sweatband or ribbon
