I’ve been struggling to keep up with all of the great posts on the lounge lately, let alone post my own pictures (sometimes life gets in the way), but here’s some from a recent visit to Kobe.
Etsuko’s in her Wolfbrae, which seems to be more and more to her liking with each wear. I’m in my MontEquador Panama. View attachment 716478
Both of you look great, not to mention supremely happy to be where you are!

Echter Borsalino "Sandurbar", 1920s possibly older. The "Ossido" color Felt is of medium weight, and has a soft hand. Also has a wide Band, tall Crown and wide Brim. This is the only "Sandurbar" on the FL. "Sandurbar" appears to be a port in the Western India State of Goa on the Arabian Sea. I think the name is out dated, because when I searched there were only a few mentions, and they were from the early 1900s. I found this Soft Felt back 2022.

Can see the small remnants of the back side of the Crown Patch.

The hat is exquisite, the colour, divine. I would love a three piece suit in that colour.

My straw hats are looking rather jaded, but this Susquehana compliments the shirt Tina made, perfectly.

There's something else that Tina made to my request, baggy trousers.
twenty-two inch circumference around the hem, no less.

Back in the day they were dubbed: "Oxford Bags."
I have a long way to go to imitate the originals.

Two great looking hats, Gary. Super photos, too. Talk about hat models!

Ive seen a bunch of Stetsons over the years that looked just like another model but werent marked as so. ( Almost- Whippetts, Almost-*******s, and Almost- Stratoliners) Always wondered if back in the day there werent a lot of over-run stock just pieced together with a royal sweatband and liner and sold to big dealers at a discount Inquiring minds wish they knew...

they certainly do seem to pop up a lot. Very common with. Whippet-y hats and OR/Strat-o-likes…. . This one certainly checks most of the ******* boxes.

light weight felt = check
big full crown = check
mid ribbon = check
2 1/2ish brim = check
single row of brim edge stitching = check

******* on the sweatband = BUZZZZZZ.

I wonder if the non model name hats were sold at a discount to the advertised models…. Or if maybe they were sold into certain establishments where they did not want to have a model name…. Either it be small stores…. Or bigger dept stores.
