Oooooh. That is a very nice Portis Lite Wate I have on as well… mine has a fabric sweat. Love these liners. Very fun!I don't buy as many fedoras as westerns, but I do hunt daily for those from Portis. When this Lite-Wate appeared, with a ridiculously low BIN price, I immediately snatched it up.
It has their “sporty lining”, and the sweat is alternately marked “Tissue Lite.” It’s light grey, with a beautiful dark navy band, complete with wind trolley. The bound-edge brim is 2.5”, and the center-dent, front pinch, crown measures 5” all around. I can find no info at all on the original retailer (Huddik’s, Pontiac, MI), but the sporty liners are generally held to be from the late 50s to early 60s. And neither of the “Lite” appellations are misnomers: this baby weighs in at a marvelously airy 2.6 ounces!

Excellent!
Great job on the new crease.Knox 15. This is a hat I’ve always liked but never worn much—I recreased it yesterday and am much happier with it now. Love when that happens.

Nice looking Wormser
Thank you bothWormser made such photogenic hats. Very nice, Joe.
That is one of my favorites, Steve: FANTASTIC!R. & M. Wegener "Start" possibly late 1920s early 1930s. The Felt is a fantastic mélange with a fine Rauh finish + soft hand. It has a hidden stitched over welt curled Brim with Back Bow. Old R. & M. Wenger hats are difficult to find, especially Soft Felts. I really like this one.

View attachment 682717 Whippet for a post office run to mail out some hats. Heading up to Vermont today where it is currently 6 degrees. Sorry to say no fedoras will be making this trip.
Don’t know what part of VT you’re headed to, but here’s a peek out the window at my place in the “Northeast Kingdom” this morning, where the neighbors are reporting about 4’ on the ground, and drifts much higher. Then, there’s the cold and wind today…
That’s a beauty Charlie—going to Jay on the Canadian border. Yowza!Leave the fedoras home, David!
