How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Damn it, no wonder it looks like my model B with a collar. Price was too good to pass given the new ish condition. Heard a lot about Vanson horsehides, finally found one.
The 9D has the back seam not found on the Enfield. It’s also got a better collar and a more trim cut. That’s a great pick up. At any price. Which Japanese site did you find it on?

I was confused about the quilted lining and the back seam too, now it all makes sense.
Surprisingly this one is from Japan Auction, ¥68,000, about $550 my Visa likes to make money on exchange rates. Nothing I can do about that, Paypal is worse. A bit less than what I paid for a new cowhide Vanson directly from Vanson so I thought it was a good deal since the condition looks like new.
There is a NOS horsehide model C but the seller has learned the Ebay ways of price gauging...

Bringing some life back to this model F myself.
Oiling her up! Heavy good old comp, 7lbs of weird pockets and a Halfbelt!

Coming my way, I'm happy to see items over priced; I bet on the item being around until I'm in the money to offer. I've bought many other jackets while this vest sat, I knew I would be crushed if it was sold, My offer got it and I'm very happy. I'm also seeing a decent fit. This is the earliest Taubers label. I have a 70s Cowhide Taubers vest that does not fit me. plain, no closure. very cool

Three boxes today. The Durable is on my back, but unzipped. I can say this; not all hype. this one is c.1950, 50s zipper pull, 40s Talon stop box, pre nylon lining.

This jacket would have been fairly new when The Wild Ones was filmed, 1952.

I did measure the sleeve zippers, 8 inches. They always stand out to me. The jacket is robust, no nonsense motorcycle jacket.

Much more to come.

Love to see how it fits you, T.

70s or 80s(?) British-made lancer-style motorcycle jacket, bought on somewhat of a whim.

Even if it fits I'm not sure what I've bought it for. Except I like it.

Well. This has arrived.

I literally opened the box 5 minutes ago and I can tell you that the jacket seems to fit. It's not vintage-sized too small, although the sleeves are a little slim and maaaaaybe a little short.

All the zips work but the lining is filthy and ripped at the armholes, and the leather is grubby too and really stiff and inflexible. I can't see any defects in the leather though, so that's good.

I'm going to clean it and condition it and see what's what, and then maybe do a thread.

I haven't tried the trousers on yet. Because oh yeah, it's a suit.

Did not know they made it in HH. Good eye!
As recent as the early 2000s. According to their catalogue then, the black horsehide would have been the same finish as the comp weight cow hide, so very durable but horsehide rustic.

I've came across a mint condition Vanson Model C jacket in horsehide, but the seller wants my both my arm and leg for it.

Vanson has gone modern with their current Harley line up. Wish they'd throw in a few heritage repros using horsehides. They'd be perfect fit for that.

I can see why. lol. That is a stunning Vanson. I havent seen a c2 in hh before. I love the shine. Any idea on the weight of the leather? 3.5oz? Wish they would offer HH as an option.
I think it's more like 2.5oz. I could be wrong. I'll report back after getting my jacket in the mail. Even if its the same horsehide as Schott it would be great. The Schott horsehide is about 3oz though. The one jacket I have is a six pounder jacket so it's not thin but not super heavy either.

They made some of these back in the early 2000s. Don't know why they stopped. It'd be interesting to find out how much they retailed for back then.

I ordered another Aero Type III in Natural Vicenza w/cream stitching and copper buttons in early March. The jacket is now in the cutting stage and hopefully it will be completed in the next 2-3 weeks and arrive shortly thereafter.

Some may recall the Navy Type III I got late last year. That jacket is truly outstanding in every way so I ordered one in Natural Vicenza to be constructed by the same artisan (Amy). I did request extra grainy hides but as the Vicenza HH is quite grainy to begin with.

If the new jacket reflects the grainy character of my first T-3 then I will be more than happy. Images will be forthcoming upon arrival!
