How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I just scored this Chippewa woolen mills for $35+ shipping on ebay.

I have no clue on the age, but I think they went under in the early 60's if I'm not mistaken.

60s Lewis leathers jacket "Bomber" arrived.

What's it made of? Asking because it looks like leather.... I know that Lewis did a vinyl model back in the 60s that was sold as "The Bomber", with a retail price markedly below their leathers. Never seen one, though, and would love to have the chance to handle one for comparison.

Well. This has arrived.

I literally opened the box 5 minutes ago and I can tell you that the jacket seems to fit. It's not vintage-sized too small, although the sleeves are a little slim and maaaaaybe a little short.

All the zips work but the lining is filthy and ripped at the armholes, and the leather is grubby too and really stiff and inflexible. I can't see any defects in the leather though, so that's good.

I'm going to clean it and condition it and see what's what, and then maybe do a thread.

I haven't tried the trousers on yet. Because oh yeah, it's a suit.

A general style that was very much the archetypal British MC jacket from late 70s right through to the turn of the 90s. This one looks very much eighties to my eye, though I'm not familiar with the brand. Of what I've seen though, it has a definite eighties look to it, and the way that logo is set on the front and the overall vibe of it looks eighties to me.

I guess Chippewa closed in 1962, so at the very minimum this jacket would be at least 60 years old.

They don't seem to have the same kind if following that Woolrich and Pendleton have, so there's likely no chance of dating it by the label and of course it has no Zipper to date.
I'll probably never know and will just have to say 1950's.

This is made of sheepskin.
The name "Bomber" is used to a
vinyl jacket with Bronx design in 50s at first. But in 60s, the name was used to this model which looks like lightning with belt loops according to Rin Tanaka.
Lewis leathers named jacket with a name used to other past model.
For example. "Nevada" jacket appeared on 60s catalogue, but same name jacket with different design appeared on 70s catalogue.

Thanks! It’s the 9d/Oxford, very similar to the Enfield, couple small differences.

I replied in the Johnson thread. Interesting so many duplicate this jacket, I find the pattern awkward. I think that is why it gets tweaked. It was a first in many ways and a transition from the older style of jackets. They kept it alive for several years, other styles were quickly added.

I agree with you about the Hercules pattern being a bit off. I have a GW Hercules that John made for me. He told me when I ordered it that it would not be as comfortable as the Ventura and the Arcadia he had made for me previously and he was right. The jacket fits well but it feels tight through the shoulders and awkward as you said

Just got this LVC from @Marc mndt . Fit me well everywhere except for the sleeve length, but that can be altered. I love the shoulders on this one. Also the curved haflbelt in the back.

Also have this beautiful Monarch coming my way as well. I bought it and received the LVC yesterday. The LVC fits just right and the Monarch's color looks absolutely stunning - brown with the right amount of distress. So, I'd say yesterday was freaking awesome day for me.
