I remembered that plum-crazy-tall hat and was hoping you'd post it here. Have you worn it much?

I’ve worn it, but not much. I have a lot of hats in the rotation and the plum isn’t the most versatile…I love it, but it’s not a daily wearer.

Too bad it's not your size. Otherwise you could do a double a triple you could do a "ripples in the pond" telescope crease. That might bring the height down a bit.

Not as tall of a crown as Bob's, but this is my tallest open crown Western, a Knox Stagecoach at 7 inches. The brim is 4 1/2 inches wide, including the 1/4 inch kettle curl. I did a refurbishment on this hat and gave it a Montana crease with a mule kick and reworked the brim, in addition to changing out the woven hat band for a mid-ribbon.

At 6 5/8" crown height, this hat is still itty-bitty in this thread but, I thought I would put it into the log as it is on the high side for a modern day hat.
