Since we're doing bus stations...

This was the bus station in my home town of Whittier, California, at some point in the past (check out that cab on the right). Mom never learned how to drive, so I rode a lot of buses and spent quite a bit of time there before I got my driver's license. These are the south and east external walls; the Yellow Cab office was on the north side of the building. For a variety of reasons the bus service was discontinued and the station closed some time in the 1990s. The building is now a "Friends of the Library Bookstore", selling donated books, movies, and music, in order to support the local library.

I remember getting on the Greyhound with my grandma for a trip to Cincinnati to visit my aunt in the late 1960s. I always liked the old bus station -- lots of interesting folks going through there. It goes back to 1928, but was the home of the Greyhounds from 1936 - 1979 and was torn down in 1986.

I used to go there back when the Friends of the Library had their big book sale twice a year.

Reminds me of this famous photo which, incidentally, was the photo on the cover of one of my college texts, An Introduction to Error Analysis.

I remember this place from when I was a wee lad. Roy's Variety, Rt. 101A, Nashua, NH. Truth in advertising, baby. Upon reflection, this might have been Merrimack. Maybe a Granite Stater could confirm.

Was able to snap a picture of these small roadside cabins wedged between the redwoods along Hwy 101 in California a few years back.

Not sure of this specific one -- but there is a country-store-gas-station type of place that looks exactly like this in every single small town in Northern New England. You could probably get a very good Italian in there.

I'd drive that '59 cat-eyed Chevy wagon.

You and me too. I'd also be pretty happy with that Country Squire. I had a 59 Ford a few years back.

A regular dinner features All Bran as the entree.

That diner is somewhere around Washington, DC, where "Arrow Beer" was a prominent local brew. Note that they painted over the embossed Orange Crush signs along the top. Hopefully they at least used orange paint.
