This is a 1941 image of Cecil Haynes, of Peters Brothers in Fort Worth, Texas. Owner, Tom Peters, is in the background. Haynes is ironing out wrinkles in an old hat. Stacked on his head are campaign hats from Fort Sam Houston, a U.S. Army post in San Antonio, Texas.

Fred Waite was a Chickasaw, born in Indian territory. He left to work as a cowboy in New Mexico, where he was employed by John Tunstall. He became friends with Bill Bonney, aka Billy the Kid, and was one of the "regulators" who sought vengeance for Tunstall's death. After leaving the group he returned to the Chickasaw Nation, where he lived in peace. He became a rancher, tribal legislator, and Attorney General for the Chickasaw Nation.

Probably but I don't recall off hand. Or maybe Belle Fourche. He had a theater there & things were still booming ~1895 or so.
