Footwear to go with our jackets

First time out with the new Wesco Boss 7500. Worn today with a duck canvas chore coat from Epaulet

The leather has a soft hand and more matte appearance than the pics may suggest. A lot of pull-up effect which you can see in the lightening toward my instep.

It is pretty tight across that instep, especially on my right foot which is a bit larger. Expected it given that Kyle at bakers recommended a snug fit. Really looking forward to breaking these in.

Here's a picture of them, still one of best engineers I've seen. They start out quite dark but the lighter green undertones are just amazing.
That's unfortunate that sizing didn't work out as nicely for you. At least there a bit big than too small, I'll always take the former any day.
I'd love to keep all my boots that long as well, I mean they are built to last a very long time especially when taken care.

I think that's the most beautiful and interesting engr boots I've seen. How tall is that guy and do you think I can order that from wesco? I see what you mean with the half soles looking so much more streamlined, that's just cool.

Yes, it's okay to wear but slips here and there but still wearable though larger than what would I have preferred it to be. Yes, boots are worthy of the investment and proper care. Thank you

Its an off the rack Boss 7500, which has these characteristics:

• British Tan Domane leather
• 10" height
• Nordic brass roller buckles
• Vintage triple stitching on uppers
• MP toe with standard boss heel height
• #700 Vibram sole with waxed edges

@Blackadder, I just got similar, Briar oil slick Red Wing Blacksmiths on some open-box special at ebay. Loving them so far, nice boots, good sub-$200 price.

Nice. You have the new Blacksmith. I got mine when the local dealer was having a closed down sale before the new dealer took over. The 8016 I have is probably made for Asian market as I still see them on Red Wing Singapore. They are the same as the normal round toe but with cork sole. Yours are more like the Beckman.

I believe it was 11'' if I'm not mistaken. I would contact them and see if they can, I would also contact Neil over at Standard and Strange and see if they will have another run of them. Never hurts to ask and Neil is a great guy so he might just be able to help.

Just received these RM Buco. This pair is not the iconic regular model but a late 50s/60s model they made a while ago in an effort to capture the transition 1) from HH to steerhide 2) to flat toe and 3) very subtle toe track. Cat's Paw Outsole and heels are also replaced by Biltrite probably because Biltrite bought Cat's Paw in the 60s (another effort to capture the detail of the transition). I have not seen many of these because the regular model is so much more popular.

You should definitely get down there and check it out when things get back to normal. I used to get into the store about once a month just to see what was new and say hi. Really cool group of people and I always enjoyed talking to them about engineer boots and leather jackets, what else is there to talk about really?

Been getting a ton of use out of these Bakers Oxford Roughouts. Was worried about the sole wearing in too quickly (which I felt was the case with a beautiful pair of wedge sole Grant Stones I had) but these are really robust.

Worn today with the Schott 370 Duke.

I was planning to but they've only been doing curb side pick up so I'll wait a while until they let people into the store again. Looks like a cool place with staff that is socially responsible and community oriented. Im afraid if I visit then there's another thing I'll be addicted to aside from boots and leather jackets lol

I got the burgundy waxed flesh as well, and I was surprised by how smooth it felt. I think the color is supposed to lighten up with wear so maybe the burgundy will show through more.
