Have yourselves a Fantastic Friday
Well played, Rich!! I have a hat that looks suspiciously like it was a St. Regis, EXACTLY like that, but in a fedora block. Love it!

Have yourselves a Fantastic Friday
The CD looks good but that AlleyKat or Cane is fantastic and it looks like it belongs on your head. You could be right, and I appreciate the information. But as I mentioned upthread I've done this before and it does appear to be healing as expected, so for now I'll let it. Besides, I'm stubborn and don't like seeing doctors unless I absolutely have to.That might come back to bite me on the backside one of these days, but I'll deal with it when/if the time comes.
Oh, right. To bring this back to the main topic, today was a two-hat day for me. While running errands earlier I wore "Cane's Creations #36", made by Tim Mahovich before he adopted the name Alley Kat Hat Co.. I haven't taken any new photos of this one for a while, so these photos are from 2014:

Rabbit felt in Whiskey with a 1940s-era 1-1/2" Grosgrain ribbon in a color called "Dark Coffee" (according to Tim's vendor). Crown height is 4-3/8" at the pinch and 4" at the rear; brim width is 2-3/4". By far it's my best and most favorite hat; I look forward to the day when I can afford to have Tim make me another hat.
Later in the early evening when I took our dog for his nightly walk I wore my Akubra Campdraft in Taupe Fawn. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago:

We now return to our regular thread topic, already in progress.
Beauty Jim, the color of that ribbon really works with that felt.Happy Groundhog Day.

Great Mallory Mike, you always bring class to jointSeems like Friday is a good day for a Homburg Hullabaloo, ending the week with some class. So, the Mallory Ten gets the ride today. Crazy warm for the dead of winter here in Oregon, so the overcoat from yesterday will have to stay home. Love this hat, came to me via @mmbarnes

"beigeishj"
Thanks Alan. There was a typo, though. It was supposed to be "beigeishy" although I think I may like "beigeishj" more. That has a kind of Middle Eastern feel to it.Word of the day!
That Premier Vita-Felt is pretty swell too.
Isn't beigeishj the color of baba ghanouj? Thanks Alan. There was a typo, though. It was supposed to be "beigeishy" although I think I may like "beigeishj" more. That has a kind of Middle Eastern feel to it.
Darned fat typing fingers...
Beautiful Mallory, today.
Very appropriate color for the Vikings' Sunday show down.
There it is. I love everything about that hatPicking up this one for the game. Go Minnesota!

Thanks Richard. That is a great St Regis your are wearing today. There was one of those locally a month or so back. Unfortunately it was in funeral black with black ribbon and binding, and even more unfortunately it was 3 sizes too big for me. Ha ha.Super blue Hommie Michael
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Beauty Jim, the color of that ribbon really works with that felt.
Great hat.
It has an almost "beigeishj" look from some angles. Is that a true reproduction of the color? It looks fantastic.
I bet it would have been fun to be a fly on the wall and watch them come up with different dye colors back in the day. Stetson's subtle variations are endlessly neat to see.
Two great looking hats Mr. Z...
Thank you Gents, and thanks to everyone for the "likes". I'd like to take credit for #36, but Tim @Cane Rod Maker did all of the work. I had a vision of what I wanted, and he somehow sucked that vision out of my head and brought it to life perfectly. The crease is what I call a "soft" C-Crown that could easily be taken for a Teardrop, and the liner is a simple one-color affair that has more of a brownish hue in person than it does in my amateur photos. The sweatband is ridiculously soft, and his hand stitching is incredibly precise. The CD looks good but that AlleyKat or Cane is fantastic and it looks like it belongs on your head.
