What's your signature hat?

Thanks Gilgamark. I am not really sure where I got the hat. I have had it for several years. It looks like my Stetson Deluxe except the brim on this hat is a little narrower - 2-1\2 inches. Same color as the Stetson. The crown is a shorter than I like them - 5 inches. I prefer them taller like Matt. The hat fits great and the felt is very soft. Not sure who really made JC Penney hats but it is a good one.

I didn't realize I had a signature hat till last night. I was at a County Commissioners meeting and someone remarked that I had "become iconic in that hat".

I have a couple of different hats that I wear frequently, but none more than my VS custom "1928 Reunion" (in the picture below from last summer). I wear this hat just about every day to the office, to Church, and in the evenings when I have somewhere important to go (like County Commissioner meetings).

I never really thought about being associated with one specific type of hat, but than I guess that the "1928 Reunion" is not a "normal" looking hat for today (but then what hat is "normal" today [huh] ).

I kind of liked the idea that someone thought I looked "iconic" in my hat.

I do wear this vintage brown Dobb's a lot. It's a great hat with a bit of a furry nap.

Yet it still doesn't compare to how much I wear my Optimo graphite.

This refurb'd olive Borsalino is my fave and I am likely seen in this more than anything else. One of those oilskin tip jobs, with 2 1/2 in brim, felted edge, soft, soft, soft. Refurb'd by Optimo - the felt cost over $100 (OFAS) and the complete refurb (w/shipping) another $100 or more.

This seller's pic is maybe a clue about how it got to be so soft - it was apparently used by the original owner as a crusher, even though it had the regular Borsalino leather sweatband.

Gotta agree on that photo, that is a nice picture. I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, and that whole area (north Alabama) is a limestone plateau - much of it covered in cotton fields.

Thanks, all. That photo was taken several years ago while I was on a "kinda" quail hunt. I say "kinda" because I recall that we did much more socializing than hunting that day...and the quail slept safely in their roosts that night.
