What's the rule: shoe/belt color per season

I've heard "No Brown In Town", back from when brown was reserved for country wardrobes. And,"No Brown After Sundown", as brown is deemed by some as to not be formal enough for evening wear.

I just know "No brown after six!", so I can just say ditto to what Tomasso said before.
