Fresh seafood is finally coming into season, so I made a Friday night, shrimp etouffee for Jackie and two long-time friends. I’ve only made it once before and that was in a cooking course in New Orleans. There, a chef watched over me to keep me from screwing up. So this was my first time solo. I have to admit, I was a bit worried that our guests and I would end up driving into town for supper at McDonalds. Thankfully, it turned out OK.

Thank you. It was so good, I was going to have it again, but instead enjoyed another favorite: teriyaki chicken, broccoli, and rice. Crockpot cooked teriyaki chicken is magical.

Carne asada street tacos (homemade) last night.

Tonight, grilled cod with homemade tartar sauce, haricot vert sauteed in butter and garlic, buttered dinner roll.

Last night I made carnitas and ate too many, well maybe, along with numerous cervesas. Lady B made some outstanding guacamole and pico di gallo for the tacos.

We have a couple of avocados left and thanks to TOE's inspiration, tonight is BLTA's.
