Country fried steak swimming in gravy with mashed potatoes (also covered with gravy) and peas & carrots.
Bone-in pork shoulder roast on manager's special = slow braise in stock with seasonings, add onion, potato, carrot, mushroom. Pork stew is what I'm calling it. Garlic toast on the side.
I had considered this earlier today but the cold kept me inside with Copleston's History of Philosophy.
So I wuzzed a broiled chicken delivery instead.

Chicken fried steak is fried and served dry, or with white or brown gravy added on top.
Proper country fried steak (like you will get at grandmas house or any decent mom&pop, is fried first, then cooked IN the gravy, which is always brown gravy.
