Getting some solid break in time for the new RM J-24 Buco on the 14 hour flight back from Tokyo.

I love this jacket a lot more than I thought I would :) the tan, thinner leather is perfect for those days when it's "almost to warm for a leather jacket, but I still want to rock one" temps outside lol.

Once again sorry for the ****py pictures gents, I really need to learn how to take a decent photo someday...

Okay, I might have gone a little too hard during my Japan trip. Second new purchase. Rainbow Country Hercules dark seal shinki. Wasn’t planning on a second jacket after the RM Buco, but it was so beautiful and fit so perfectly I couldn’t say no. Price was also about $500 better than overseas, from what I can tell.

On a day like today, with London cosplaying hell at 35C, I can only dream of being able to wear a jacket. Mostly I'm jealously eying the dog's cool-coat; he's just lucky he's far too tiny for it to make any difference to me!

Simple, sophisticated, perfect: my two new Schotts...OTR but fit like they were made for me. And after 20 years of FQHH, I feel like Atlas the day after the weight of the world was lifted off his shoulders.

The black is #246 lamb/sheep, the brown is #546 in cow; both are delicious, smooth as butter, and superbly crafted. Linings are cotton and magnificent, sleeves are satin/polyester/smooth. Schott is known for its moto/Perfectos, but I think their "civilians" are even better.

Wish I had discovered them decades ago, would have saved me a lot of aggravation, time and expense. Yes FQHH is an ideal material for riding, giving lots of protection and the weight is less of a factor since you are sitting on a bike, but wearing an 8.5lb FQHH coat while walking around for 6-8 hours is brutal - and that is after you've spent YEARS breaking the jacket in so you can actually move your arms.

New leather jacket buyers should be properly educated on FQHH and what it requires of the buyer/wearer, and I think the jacket makers should urge buyers to look at lighter/mid-weight horse hides (Pinnacle??) if they have never had a FQHH jacket before.

PS I received my Aero hangers which after customs/duties cost nearly $30 per...don't get me started, but this was not Aero's fault. UPS is truly a dreadful company.

Brief price side panel-
My prices for 2025 production were $1750/1815 depending on size, though all the Hercs sold out. RC upped their prices about $150 so 2026 production had to go up accordingly. The difference for my price vs buying in Japan can almost entirely be accounted for by import duties.
Aren't you a retailer now?
Shouldn't you have your own thread?
I dunno, mods here are kinda sleepy on people like you, but i'm sure you're freely promoting against forum rules as a retailer.

Nice jackets and good fit. For future, I’m in the US and bought some Aero hangers from Thurston Bros and they were about $20 each and no need for international shipping.

Tomorrow's Jacket... I just finished this Japanese tribute to 1950's rock idol, Eddie Cochran. It's a 70's-80's vintage, USA made, Excelled brand asymmetrical jacket adorned with my hand tooled leather patches. Going to be in my jacket booth at tomorrows Punk & Brews concert at Helix Brewing Co., La Mesa, CA. See you there punks!!!

Schott 637 steerhide today on a non motorcycling day out.
With 25mm of rain forecast in squalls we still went to the southeast HD dealer
This has non zipper sleeves and an IDEAL paperclip main zipper
One of my non riding winter faves.
Like a lot of my collection it can hang for 6+ months unworn

Literally unprecedented heatwave here (and using “literally“ in the literal sense too) with temps soaring over 40 degrees centigrade. No jacket whatsoever.

To balance that off, here’s my favourite quotes from this past week, rated by stupidity from annoying to mind-numbingly silly:

- If it’s too hot in the office, why don’t you work from home?
- It’s been hot too when I was still working.
- What do you complain sitting in the office all day. The fine folks doing construction work have it worse.
- I can’t see why would need air conditioning when summers are so short here.
- I am quite glad that we don‘t have aircon anywhere. I always get sick from the cold.

The sh!t hits the fan next week. Nothing with long sleeves after today but have been able to wear this a few times with unseasonably cool temps this past week. Rough out lamb with a couple of Sal’s famous pockets.

In normal years when I'm in the office, the aircon is very much appreciated. I'm very tempted to install it at home, as we certainly get a long enough hellheat season in London to justify it. Problem is while it's cheap to install it's crazily expensive to run, and I know I'd never be able to resist the temptation to have it on full 24/7 until at lest September.

Well, I'm not wearing it at the moment since it's way too hot outside and I don't have a full-body mirror for pictures but I just received my Flat Head HS005 single rider jacket. Was originally going to get an HS001 but Rivet and Hide increased its price recently and I probably would've had to deal with import costs of over $800CAD for either jacket ordering from anywhere else. If there's anyone out there who wanted to snag the last size 40 in stock, I apologize.

I was worried about the sizing but the looks, fit, and comfort are all immaculate. The Flat Head's rayon lining is one of the most comfortable jacket linings I've ever come across. Horsehide jackets are usually more glossy/shiny but the texture on this leather is really subdued and unique, plus the contrasting stitching is the cherry on top. I really like the faint smoky(?) aroma of the Shinki horsehide in particular. I've tried on The Real McCoy's Buco leather jackets in store before but I never really got a good whiff of them at the time so I can't compare on that front.

If I want to start a collection I'd probably get an RMC Buco J-24 or a Rainbow Country Hercules/Santa Clara next. Maybe an RMC Nelson or a Freewheelers Mulholland but who knows when those will ever get restocked. The Buco J-100 being posted above is enticing and looks cool as hell but I don't think Cafe Racer jackets are for me. No handwarmer pockets is one thing but the lack of even an inner pocket is a hard sell. Plus considering my height and the length of my arms the sleeve zippers are on the "wrong side" for me unless I get a size 38.

I think I might sell my Addict Clothes AD-01 horsehide jacket that I got at the end of last year back when I was obese and needed a size 46 jacket. Before getting this HS005 I thought the AD-01 fit still kind of worked but after looking at myself in it again it really is too large.
